Honda Nighthawk description

I have a 1982 Honda nighthawk 450 cc runs but might need work. I have owned this bike for the last 10 years and she was a great reliable bike, but I am now moving and can't take her with me.

I'm not sure if there is a mechanical issue or not, I am not a mechanic, and don't have the time or money to get her checked out. All I know is she made an odd noise the last time I rode, and I never had the chance to look into it. Was planning on making it into a cafe racer, but my mechanic buddy moved to another state.

Right now it is completely stock. Has a clean and clear title. The tank and all the fairings were taken off, stripped of the old paint (tank to bare metal) and painted/clear coated. The gas tank was also acid washed on the inside, so there is no rust in the tank. This bike has new tires, new brakes, stator, and more. It has a mostly complete spare motor with extra parts. See pics for details.

The installed engine has about 8000 miles.  My mechanic friend swapped out the engine in 2007 at 22,000 frame miles. The extra/parts motor that comes with the bike is the original motor from the bike.

I am selling this bike as-is with no warranty or implied condition.  I am available most days of the week if you would like to come by and see her in person. We are located on Thurston Ave. and 20th St. in Racine WI 53403.

The New Fastest Electric Motorcycle Lap, With John McGuinness + Video

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Earlier this week, John McGuinness won the single-lap TT Zero electric motorcycle race at the Isle of Man TT aboard his Mugen Shinden San. In the process, the 21-time TT winner smashed the old lap record of 109.675 mph, setting an average speed of 117.366 mph from a standing start. To put that in perspective, McGuinness’ teammate, Bruce Anstey, aboard a sister Mugen, set the outright lap record earlier this week aboard his Honda CBR1000RR superbike of over 132 mph.

Honda Raises MSRP for 2013 NC700X But Lowers Price for DCT Option

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

The big news from Honda last week was the introduction of the new CTX700 and CTX700N cruisers. Flying a little under the radar however was a change to American Honda‘s pricing structure for the 2013 NC700X which sees a price increase for the base model but a price cut for combined anti-lock brakes and a dual clutch transmission Honda introduced the NC700X last year at an impressively low price of $6999 for the base model and $8999 with ABS and DCT. The low price point was one key advantage we awarded the 2012 NC700X over the $7899 Kawasaki Versys in our recent Middleweight Multi-Tool Shootout.

Own A Scale Model Of The Elf5, One Of The Most Unique Racing Motorcycles Ever

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

If you’re a fan of scale model racing motorcycle kits, this 1/12 scale model of the Elf5 racer, as ridden by Ron Haslam in 1988, should make your mouth water. Designed by famous F1 designer André de Cortanze, the Elf5 was the culmination of a radical experiment by de Cortanze and Elf, the French petroleum giant. And even though it didn’t claim the racing success Cortanze and Elf had hoped, the experimental Elf motorcycles hold a distinctive place in motorcycle racing history, with some of its technology still in use today.  Powered by a Honda NSR500 V4 engine that served as a stressed member and main mounting structure for the single-sided swingarms both front and rear, this recently released scale model is based closely on the actual Elf5 racing machines. This full detailed kit maintains the single-sided suspension, with the front suspension consisting of aluminum alloy and springs that will be partly movable.
