Honda Magna description
Not much to say on this bike. It runs great, I ride it every day I am able to work and back which is about an 85 mile round trip route. No smoke, no leaks, no mechanical issues. v4 engine produces a bunch of power so don't let the 750cc fool you. Plenty of highway speed, easy over 100mph It's a very smooth ride, its a very easy bike to handle. If you are looking for a first bike, I wouldn't waste my time getting a 250 rebel or virago or whatever, just go with something like this with a low seat height (28") and low center of gravity. A fine daily or weekend driver. Cosmetically it looks great from a few feet away but it is 20 years old so there are some light scratches and touch ups on the paint. It looks to me like the tank had been repainted at some point as there is a small area of rippling on the left top portion (like the orange peel thing). Also there is light oxidation at various small places, most of which comes off with some 000 steel wool, I just spend more time riding than polishing my bike. It's an actual vehicle for me vs some weekend toy. There is also a small scrape on the left side top exhaust. I don't think this was from a lay down as there isn't any other scrapes that would indicate that, just in that one place. Also, the PO took out the baffles on the lower 2 exhaust pipes but left them in on the top 2. I would assume that this was to avoid rejetting the carb. It works fine, but it creates a slightly odd exhaust note to have just half the baffles in. There are many easy mods for the exhaust on these bikes all over forums but again, its not something that bothers me enough to spend an afternoon working on it. I'm more concerned with how my vehicle rides and performs on a daily basis vs if it sounds super cool for other people to hear. Just serviced at the beginning of this riding season. Tires, clutch, brakes are all fine, no need to spend a dime on this bike in the immediate future. The spade is a decal, you can remove it if you so desire I have a passenger pad with the mounting hardware for this bike, I do not use it or put it on, i ride solo as you see it, but you will receive that part as well. I may also have some over the fender saddle bags laying around. If I can find them, you are welcome to them. I ride this every day, so mileage will increase from what you see here. I am selling it to fund and make room for a winder project bike that I plan on riding next year. Its a fabulous bike for the money. More HP than a Harley, yet 1/3 the price.

How do 1000s compare to the 800s
Wed, 09 Nov 2011Now MotoGP has completed its transformation from 800 to 1000cc, how do the lap times between the different bikes compare using Valencia and the post-season test as a benchmark.. Yesterday, Dani Pedrosa was the quickest 1000 on his Honda RC213V setting a time of 1:32.186. To find the quickest time from the outgoing 800 era you have to look at his current Repsol Honda team-mate, Casey Stoner, but it wasn't set on a Honda.
Voluntary Recall for Continental ContiMotion Sport-Touring Tires
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Continental Tire announced a voluntary recall campaign for certain ContiMotion sport-touring tires. According to Continental, market feedback has shown some tires may experience uneven wear from the 180/60R16 74H ContiMotion rear tires. Tires may develop groove cracking and, in some cases, belt lift, conditions which can lead to a loss of tire inflation pressure and a potential for loss of control.
