Honda Interceptor description
Background/History:
This is my first bike. From the beginning I fell in love with the look
and feel of it, especially the uniqueness of the single-side swing arm
design. However, I haven't ridden it very much since I bought it in
2008 (certainly not as much as I would have liked). In total I've put
less than 1,000 miles on it. And although it runs and rides great (just
like you would expect from the king of the sport touring class), I just
got married and, unfortunately, I'm not going to have much more time
for riding.
I am the third owner of the bike and it hasn't been down since I've
owned it. However, I did tip it over in a parking lot when I was first
learning how to ride, resulting in some minor scratches on the left side
fairing. The original owner loved it and put close to 50,000 miles on
it (it now has 52,901). Both the original owner and myself have done
regular maintenance and keep excellent records. It's great on gas and
insurance rates.
Features / Extras:
• custom paint job (black with blue smoke flames)
• aftermarket Staintune exhaust gives it a deep, throaty sound
• aftermarket Corbin seat
• aftermarket windscreen
• excellent tire tread (especially the rear -- less than 1,000 miles)
• brand new battery
• center stand included (needs bolts)
• includes original owners manual and tool kit
Problems:
• minor scratches and damage to left side fairing (see close up photo)
• clutch handle is bent (does not effect functionality)
• needs service / oil change (not by mileage but by date)
• needs tabs (expire at the end of August 2013)
Review:
• Motorcyclenews.com:
"The Honda VFR800 is the best version of the best motorcycle ever built
according to some. Honda VFR800 is a consummate all-rounder that looks
great and goes better whether you're on a track day, commuting or
heading on a two week holiday with pillion and luggage. Honda VFR800 is
an evolution of the VFR750, which started life as a sports bike but
ended as a super sports tourer."
