Honda Interceptor description

This auction is for a very mechanically sound 1984 Honda VF1000 Interceptor. Tires are two seasons old with about 2000 miles on them.  New brake and clutch hoses.  Pads and chain are in good shape.  Upgraded rear shock with remote gas reservoir.  F1 exhaust installed, the OE exhaust and tool kit also come with bike.

I am the third owner, and have had it just under a year.  In that time I put 2000 miles on the bike, all trouble free.  In a single weekend I put about 800 miles on, traveling both Interstate and winding mountains.  The motorcycle performed great.   I would ride this bike any distance with no hesitation.  I am selling to make room in the garage - too many toys.

The bike is cosmetically nice aside from the normal wear associated with a 30 year old vehicle, and a small dent in the gas tank.  She is not a museum piece but is a very good ride ready bike.

I would prefer to handle this transaction face to face, but if you hire a shipper I will roll it to the end of the driveway for them.  A deposit of $500 is due at the end of the auction.  Balance due before pickup.  Funds must be clear in my hand before title transfer.

Honda VFR1200 blog: Dearly Beloved

Wed, 25 Nov 2009

FOR WHAT we are about to receive... We all know motorcycling's a religion, which may be why Honda chose a defunct church to launch the 2010 VFR1200F - the bike the company reckon will take the sports-touring market by storm. Rain-soaked Spain is the venue for the European launch of the all-new Honda VFR1200F.

Press launches - the ugly truth. Part 3

Sun, 03 Apr 2011

So with an afternoon of sightseeing completed (a rare luxury on most launches) it's back to the hotel for the press conference. These are you usually long winded, tooth pulling affairs with Japanese technicians insisting on speaking their bestest engrish which only serves to elongate the proceedings. Nothing kills a presentation more than reading every word of a powerpoint slide verbatum, even thought the viewers can read exactly the same words (and probably a lot faster).  The Crossrunner presentation was mercifully brief and snappy followed by dinner in the hotel and a reasonably early night as everyone had already been up for twenty hours.

Honda revealed a pair of special edition versions of the 50cc Little Cub for the Japanese market to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the original Super Cub C100. The Super Cub is one of the longest continually-produced model series in the world, with Honda producing more than 85 million units since 1958. That averages out to about 1.55 million Cubs produced per year.
