2014 Honda® Gold Wing® Audio Comfort Navi XM ABS

Plan To Go Everywhere.

There’s big news when it comes to the new 2014 Honda® Gold Wing®: we’ve taken the world’s best touring motorcycle and made it even better. The new bodywork is the first thing you’ll notice, complementing the best engine and chassis package the touring world has ever seen. Look a little further and you’ll discover great new improvements to the audio system, the available navigation system and the Gold Wing®’s comfort, too. There’s new functionality as well, like integrated iPod® connectivity and the ability to upload trips to the Navi system from your home computer.

Innovations
  • Satellite-Linked Navigation System

Our exclusive Honda® design and technology gives you the best available fully integrated GPS-based Navi system on two wheels, featuring a brighter color LCD screen and step-by-step verbal directions via Gold Wing®’s sound system. And new for 2014: a new lane guidance feature, junction view, 3-D terrain view and a new GPS receiver that captures satellite signals faster. Plus, with TripPlanner.Honda.com, you can plan trip routes on your home computer and upload them into your Gold Wing®’s Navi system.

  • Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Checking tire pressure can be a hassle—except when you’re riding a Gold Wing® with our Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). A pair of monitors keeps track of both front and rear tire pressures, and the dashboard readout is updated once per minute. They’ll send you an alert if either tire is significantly underinflated.

  • Heated Grips/Seat

The Gold Wing® Features heated grips, a heated rider’s seat and a heated passenger seat/backrest, all with individual rider and passenger controls. There’s even a foot-warming system for cold mornings!

  • Seat Cover And Urethane Seat Material

The best seat in the house just got better. Both the rider and passenger will feel the difference that our new urethane seat material makes. The waterproof cover also features a new sportier, custom-perforated look too. A day in the saddle never felt so good!

  • Audio System With Surround Sound

Featuring a surround-sound system that’s tuned exclusively for the Gold Wing®. When using the speakers (SRS CS Auto*), the audio image is enhanced along with deep low tones, producing a powerful surround sound. When using the headsets (SRS Headphone**), you’ll hear a three-dimensional sound field brimming with realistic sound. (SRS CS Auto* and SRS Headphone** are trademarks of SRS Labs, Inc.)†

  • Pro-Arm® Rear Swingarm

The Gold Wing®’s MotoGP-inspired single-sided cast-aluminum swingarm is super rigid and lightweight, with reduced unsprung weight, delivering sharper, sportier handling. Its unique Pro-Arm® design mates up with Honda®’s patented Pro-Link® rear suspension, featuring electronically adjustable hydraulic preload settings for various riding and load conditions.

  • Improved Wind And Weather Protection

The 2014 Gold Wing®’s layered-surface bodywork does more than just look great. We took the opportunity to fine-tune the rider and passenger environment. There’s appreciably more wind and weather protection around your lower legs, so you’ll experience less buffeting and warmer legs on those cool days.

  • 1832cc Liquid-cooled, Fuel-injected Engine

The Gold Wing®’s fuel-injected, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine is exceptionally smooth and incredibly powerful. This time-tested powerplant delivers plenty of useable power, using regular unleaded fuel. And to eliminate crankshaft-induced torque reaction at the chassis, the gearbox spins opposite the crank’s rotation—an elegant solution, and a typical Gold Wing® engineering touch.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Toronto Results

Mon, 26 Mar 2012

Ryan Villopoto moved one step closer to repeating as AMA Supercross Champion with his seventh win of the season at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. With his chief rivals not making the trip north of the border due to various injuries, Villopoto can clinch the 2012 championship as soon as next weekend’s race at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, if they continue to be out of action. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has 271 points with five rounds remaining.

EICMA 2013: 2014 Honda VFR800F

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Gracing the new 2014 VFR800F is traction control, ABS, heated grips, adjustable seat height and self-canceling blinkers. The V-Four-powered machine has been re-tuned  for greater low and mid-range torque, and also receives a new telescopic fork, Pro-arm swingarm, wheels, new, slimmer bodywork and styling. Starting with the 782cc V4-VTEC engine, Honda engineers focused mainly on cam timing and valve duration/overlap to increase low-to midrange power and torque, claiming 104.5 hp @ 10,250 rpm and 55.4 ft-lbs of torque @ 8,500 rpm. Bore and stroke is 72mm x 48mm, with compression ratio of 11.8:1. VTEC valve timing still operates one pair of inlet/exhaust valves per cylinder at low rpm, and then switches to four as revs rise. Honda’s single-mode Traction Control System (TCS) is fitted as standard equipment and is operated from the left handlebar.

2013 Honda CRF250L Dual-Sport Officially Announced for US

Tue, 29 May 2012

As expected, Honda has officially announced it will introduce its new CRF250L to the U.S., offering it as a 2013 model for $4,499. The 2013 Honda CRF250L is powered by a liquid-cooled fuel-injected 249cc Single inherited from the CBR250R, so it carries the same low-friction innovations such as the roller rocker arm design. Like the CBR, the CRF250L is produced in Thailand, helping keep costs low.
