Honda Gold Wing description

I AM A PRIVATE MOTORCYCLE SELLER/BROKER FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS WITH THE HONDA GOLD WING BEING MY NUMBER 1 SELLER.

You are bidding on an extremely clean 1997 Honda GL1500A Gold Wing Aspencade motorcycle with under 30k miles !!!  This motorcycle starts, runs, shifts and stops like it should..  All accessories (radio, intercom, on-board compressor, cruise, reverse etc..) all work as they should.

GL1500 Specs:

  • 1520 cc, liquid cooled, 6 - cylinders boxer, 4-stroke
  • 5sp trans
  • shaft drive
  • disc brakes
  • 100 hp / 110 ft lb torque
  • 6.1 gallon fuel capacity
  • dry weight UNDER 800 lbs.

GL1500 features:

  • AM/FM radio cassette
  • electronic cruise control
  • electronic reverse
  • air assisted rear suspension
  • on-board air compressor
  • rider to passenger intercom
  • plenty of storage

GL1500 EXTRAS:

  • CHROME windshield trim
  • CHROME front brake disc covers
  • EXTRA LARGE Slipstream windshield
  • Rear speakers (factory on SE, NOT Aspencade)
  • FULL SIZE storage cover
  • AIR HOSE for filling tires from on-board compressor

This Goldwing is in excellent used condition, I have put many miles on it and ALL accessories work as they should...  With any 20 yr old USED motorcycle there will be some imperfections (chips, scratches, corrosion etc.) there is NO signs of abuse or drops...  Things I can pick out from my observation are: light corrosion on some of the metal parts, some light scratches in the body work, some of the plastic panels have loose tabs (but are all securely intact)  I believe that a GOOD detail will fix/improve most of the stated issues...

When I picked up this bike it had sat for a couple of years, I added a new battery and took it to my local shop for a check up..  I had the carbs removed, ultrasonically cleaned, balanced and tuned back on the bike (paid $450 + tax for the service) and it purrs like a kitten!  I wouldn't hesitate to ride this bike cross country today!

INCLUDED WITH SALE:  This bike has the factory radio cover, factory tool kit, factory owners manual as well as a full sized motorcycle cover and air hose for adjusting tire pressure from the onboard compressor.

VERY LOW RESERVE FOR WHAT IS BEING OFFERED!   A $500 PAYPAL (or verified bank wire transfer) due at the end of the auction and balance by way of CASH or VERIFIED Cashiers Check due upon delivery...  I will assist in shipping if desired..  I have shipped Goldwings to SC, AZ, NY, OK, CA and MI off the top of my head..  I can assist in trailer loading or even pick you up at the airport if you want to ride it home..

ANY QUESTIONS feel free to call, text or email me.  I will get back to you in a very reasonable amount of time...

FOR SALE LOCALLY ! ! ! I will end the auction early, if it hasn't met reserve, to sell to a local buyer...

THANKS!!! And Happy Bidding!!

GSX-R600 and CBR250R the glass is half full

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

Suzuki’s GSX-R600 might not look that much different to the outgoing model but I suspect this bike could be very much a dark horse in 2011. I say this because two years ago I was definitely not building my hopes up en route to the K9 GSXR 1000 launch. The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong.  As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.

No snow here folks!

Fri, 31 Dec 2010

An erratic work schedule combined with a full season of kids racing means, there aren’t many opportunities during the summer months for the Mackenzie family to grab a holiday. Instead, we tend to save our pennies and head off somewhere sunny for Christmas. I love doing this as it shortens the UK winter but more importantly it means I miss the festive frenzy.  I do like Christmas, but I hate how everyone gets caught up in the retail madness that kicks off just before Halloween, then has everyone stressed (and skint)before Santa has even hitched up his sleigh.

Honda's latest Cub

Fri, 18 May 2012

Honda released their original C100 Super Cub way back in 1958 when other bikes at the time proved to be notoriously unreliable and difficult to ride. Since then, they have sold over 27 million C90s, with the step-through framed bike proving to be easy to ride and even easier to maintain. Looking like it's come straight from the film WALL-E, the new UNI-CUB might have two wheels but any similarity with a Honda C90 ends there.
