Honda CT description
1971 CUSTOM CT 70 (115 cc motor)
Bike was custom-built by a friend of mine who restores motorcycles for a living. Any and all aluminum, triple clamp, wheel hubs, etc. were polished, as were the wheels plated for appearance. I have only put approx. 50 miles on the bike since being rebuilt. Motor is a new 115 cc Honda knock-off that makes more than enough power. Transmission is a 4-speed with manual clutch. One issue is that the speedo stopped working last summer. Don't know if the cable or small gear broke. Also, I have never put any acid in the battery given its limited use, so the lights are not functional at the moment, but that is a simple fix with a working battery. Bike is a riot to ride and always attracts a lot of attention. Very fast for what it is. Sort of a big block CT 70. Always starts within a few kicks, making it extremely reliable. |

The Japanese oddity to naming teams
Wed, 28 Jul 2010Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. New kit: Davida Jet helmet
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The Davida Jet helmet is a quality piece of kit, made here in dear Old Blighty. I got my hands on one just a few days before I went on the CB1100 launch last week and I thought it suited Honda's big retro perfectly. The lining and finish is superb, with high gloss paint and a padded/quilted leather interior.
2014 AMA Supercross – Atlanta Results
Mon, 24 Feb 2014KTM‘s Ken Roczen continues to impress, taking his second AMA Supercross win of his 450-class rookie season at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Roczen, who also won the season opening Anaheim 1 round, took advantage of a mistake by Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto to take the win and move within nine points of the defending champion in the rider standings. The main event started with Smartop Motoconcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi taking the holeshot for his best start this season.
