And , we’ve given them even more to love. For 2014, there’s new intake and exhaust ports, a new Dual-Timing PGM-FI fuel injection setup, and redesigned muffler internals to boost torque output and increase throttle response. The CRF450R is designed for the way riders ride today. There’s more whipping. More scrubbing. So we built a bike that takes weight off the bike’s ends, and concentrates mass towards the bike’s center. The first thing you’ll notice is our revolutionary air fork. It’s nearly two pounds lighter than a conventional coil-spring fork, taking weight off the front. And now with improved oil flow, this year the fork is even more responsive, delivering even better handling. And new clutch springs to enhance lever feel. The CRF450R also sports a compact dual exhaust, tucked closely to the frame to further enhance mass centralization. And with better exhaust flow, we’ve even managed to increase horsepower. There’s also our next-generation aluminum chassis, designed to help lower the center of gravity. All in all, the 2014 CRF450R takes the best and lightest bike in its class and makes it even better. And, in doing so, plants it firmly ahead of the pack.

2014 Honda CRF125F, CRF125F Big Wheel Announced

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

Honda announced a new off-road model with two wheel size options for 2014. The new Honda CRF125F and the CRF125F Big Wheel variant replace the outgoing CRF80F and CRF100F youth models, just as the CRF110F replaced the CRF70F in the 2013 model year. Essentially, in two years, Honda has replaced three of its long-serving youth-oriented off-road bikes with new larger-displacement models while maintaining the dimensions of the previous models to provide options for kids of varying heights.

WSBK 2013: Moscow Race Report

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Marco Melandri captured his third win of the season, the Ducati 1199 Panigale scored its first podium while Sylvain Guintoli regained the championship lead despite dislocating his collarbone days before the race. But the big news at Moscow Raceway of course was the tragic death of Andrea Antonelli in the World Supersport race. The opening-lap crash in severely wet conditions naturally led to the cancellation of the rest of the events as the World Superbike community mourns the loss of the 25-year-old Antonelli.

Own A Scale Model Of The Elf5, One Of The Most Unique Racing Motorcycles Ever

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

If you’re a fan of scale model racing motorcycle kits, this 1/12 scale model of the Elf5 racer, as ridden by Ron Haslam in 1988, should make your mouth water. Designed by famous F1 designer André de Cortanze, the Elf5 was the culmination of a radical experiment by de Cortanze and Elf, the French petroleum giant. And even though it didn’t claim the racing success Cortanze and Elf had hoped, the experimental Elf motorcycles hold a distinctive place in motorcycle racing history, with some of its technology still in use today.  Powered by a Honda NSR500 V4 engine that served as a stressed member and main mounting structure for the single-sided swingarms both front and rear, this recently released scale model is based closely on the actual Elf5 racing machines. This full detailed kit maintains the single-sided suspension, with the front suspension consisting of aluminum alloy and springs that will be partly movable.
