Honda CRF description

2013 Honda CRF 250X, 2013 Honda CRF250X Track-proven. Trail ready. Using technology from our National-Championship-winning MX machines, the CRF250X is powered by a four-stroke Unicam engine specially modified for off-road riding. We ve also tuned the suspension for the trails, and given the rugged transmission wide-ratio gearing to handle conditions in both real-world riding and closed-course racing. Best of all, its electric starter puts you on the fast track with the push of a button, and is a godsend on rocky trails or gnarly uphills. The closer you look at a CRF250X, the more you re going to like it. And that ll go double when you actually ride it. Dominate in the Dirt Along with its powerful and lightweight engine, the CRF250X has dozens of smart features like works-type front and rear brake discs, a narrow fuel tank that's easy to move around, and an 18-inch rear wheel for superior tire selection and traction. In short, all the attention to detail you'd expect in a Honda. Track Proven With its Unicam cylinder head, this liquid-cooled four-stroke puts out loads of power over a wide rpm band for maximum trail performance. Easy Starts Our push-button electric starter offers all-around convenience, whether you re starting out on your ride or quickly restarting in tough conditions. Dual Radiators Dual radiators feature a refined core area for improved heat dissipation compared with conventional dual-radiator designs. Coolant recovery tank is located in front of the engine between the frame downtubes for improved center of gravity. Coolant tank is protected by a plastic skidplate. Gear-Driven Counterbalancer Gear-Driven Counterbalancer reduces vibration and drives the water pump. Eight clutch plates provide the surface area necessary to handle the engine's massive torque, while carefully matched clutch springs provide a light feel at the lever.

Tue, 15 Nov 2011

The San Carlo Gresini race team announced it will compete in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship as a Claiming Rules Team with a Honda CBR1000RR engine in an FTR prototype chassis. The move is a late, but unfortunately necessary change from the team’s original plan to run the factory-level Honda RC213V racebike. The late Marco Simoncelli was tabbed to ride the newest version of Honda’s MotoGP machine next season, but after his tragic death, Gresini had to find another option if it wanted to continue racing.

2014 World Supersport – Phillip Island Results

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

The 2014 World Supersport season opened in dramatic fashion after a red-flagged restart turned the 18-lap race into a five-lap sprint, with MV Agusta making a triumphant return to the top of the podium for the first time since 1976. The Supersport event began with a hard-fought battle between three-time champion Kenan Sofuoglu, Kev Coghlan and Michael van der Mark. Sofuoglu and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R held a slim lead over Coghlan’s Yamaha R6 and van der Mark’s Honda CBR600RR when the race was halted after CIA Insurance Honda rider Jack Kennedy suffered an engine problem and leaked oil onto the track.
