Honda’s awesome CRF450R has taken the lead in the four-stroke motocross revolution, and it’s still way out in front. To keep it there, we’ve given the king of the open class some serious updates for 2012. With a machine like this, anything less than perfection is unacceptable—and the 2012 CRF450R gives you the perfect balance of open-class Honda power, refined suspension, and the best brakes in the business. First, we’ve changed the rear shock linkage so you get a softer start and a stiffer finish. It responds to small bumps better, but still resists bottoming over really big hits. Fine-tuning the rear travel helps with steering during hard braking and on long, fast downhill sections. At the front, new fork outer tubes are stiffer for better feedback and superior tracking in heavy dirt, mud, and sand sections. New springs and suspension settings front and rear keep the balance right and increase steering precision. And we’ve even given the 2012 CRF450R wider, longer footpegs for better grip and comfort and fitted it with premium Dunlop MX51 tires for superior traction in corners and under acceleration. US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
Honda CBR250R Challenge Series Announced for 2012 Canadian Superbike Season
Mon, 19 Dec 2011Honda Canada has officially announced a new racing series featuring its CBR250R entry-level sportbike, to be held at 2012 Canadian Superbike racing events. The new Honda CBR250R Challenge series replaces the previous CBR125R spec series and will include a double-header at each CSBK National race weekend. The series is open to riders 15-25, though riders as young as 13 may be eligible if they have competed in at least three sanctioned CBR125R events.

Thu, 28 May 2009Ok, it’s not THAT new… Somehow it slipped passed me back in April. I guess I was too busy watching people do wheelies on scooters. The new 2010 Honda Fury TV spot has a lot of quick edits of intense scenes including a shark jumping up at your face and various animals and people screaming at you. Let’s not forget the dude getting punched in the face and people getting blown around by a tornado. Ya, it’s INTENSE and kind of scary. You don’t see too much of the bike except for it standing stationary near the end.
