Weve given our quarter-liter wonder some serious upgrades for 2011 and it likes to win. Because theres a new 94 dB exhaust rule this year, we gave the CRF250R a new muffler. But we also gave it a new ECU settings which, combined with the exhaust, gives you more usable power, especially in the midrange. Its a win-win situation: A quieter bike and one thats even easier to ride. Like the CFR450R, we also gave the CRF250R a new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) with a new, bigger 24 mm piston. That gives you more damping when you need it, but still remains as transparent as ever when you dont. Recall on Kuryakyn Transformer Passenger Floorboards for Honda Gold Wing
Tue, 20 Dec 2011Accessory manufacturer Küryakyn is issuing a recall on its Transformer passenger floorboards for the 2001-2011 Honda Gold Wing. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounts of the Küryakyn Transformer floorboards may crack and break free from the mounting bolts. The floorboards may unexpectedly fall off the motorcycle, potentially leading to a crash or injury.
Stoner explains the tank slapper
Mon, 03 Oct 2011Casey Stoner looked all set to win at Motegi, after translating his pole position into an early race-lead. But coming over the crest on the back straight his bike momentarily lost control in a tank slapper. Regaining composure the championship leader was forced to pump his brakes to get the pads back in place, with the rear-wheel bouncing in the air he ran out of time and space to make the 90 degree right hander and was forced to run into the gravel.
