Honda CR description

1985 Honda CR500R, Purchased from a friend of mine. Has been sitting in a work shed for 15 years. All original, stock pipe was Ceramic coated,
very little ride time, I did not paint the frame or engine. Removed cylinder to inspect piston and bore, still has the factory hone marks. Installed new rings,
Boyesen Power reed valves, rebuilt carburetor, new Twin Air filter,  removed the right side cover and replaced water pump seals, also no corrosion in the cover or coolant passages, replaced coolant hoses, replaced chain, chain rollers, installed new kick starter shaft seal, countershaft seal, shift shaft seal. Front brake master cylinder was not rebuildable, replaced with a new one, rebuilt brake caliper, new brake pads, Oury grips, cleaned rear brake shoes, replaced fork seals and fluid, new O/E fork boots. When I put fuel in the tank and it sit over the weekend the tank split open, I replaced the tank with a 1986 model, it is slimmer then the original. New seat cover, Installed Maier front and rear fenders, tank shrouds, side panels. The original CDI module was weak, installed PVL Ignition system. I do not have a title or MSO, just a Bill of sale. Very Powerful and nice bike!

WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

Quick Impressions on the Honda NT700V

UPDATE:  Read the full review of the 2010 Honda NT700V now on Motorcycle.com It should be obvious, but one of the perks of being in the business of evaluating motorcycles is the opportunity to see and ride a huge variety of bikes. Recently, while returning a CRF230M to American Honda’s main offices I spotted the new-to-the-U.S. NT700V sitting amongst the gaggle of bikes set aside for the moto media.
