1979 Yamaha SR500r – Incredible Original Condition Current California registration with original blue and yellow license plate. 3560 original miles. The bike has always been stored indoors and is in impeccable condition. As you can see from the photos, the bike is like new and is in no way ‘tidied up’ for sale. There is no rust, dents or other damage hidden. All decals, paint and seat are in perfect condition. The bike starts on the first kick (once you get the hang of starting an SR) and runs like a top. New tires, new MotoBatt sealed battery and the rubber seal on the gas tank is the only work I have done after purchasing the bike from a friend last year. A set of brake pads, full carb rebuild kit and other parts will be included in the sale. A full set of related documents will come with the bike including original sale brochure, owner’s manual and a Clymer service manual plus a second original Yamaha key. This may well be the very best original example of an SR500r out there and it is ready to placed in any showroom worldwide. Hope you like it and good luck!!!2016-07-30 04:50:17San Rafael, California, United States312000 -

For auction a 1979 Yamaha RD400F-Dayton Special, 400cc two stroke twin, the first and only year the Daytona Special was produced for the U.S.,“The King of the two strokes.” I bought the bike 21 years ago. It is box stock with a few exceptions: Expansion chambers by a previous owner; the kick stand was extended to fit under the pipes; the seat has been reupholstered (and is much more comfortable than the original); the horn needs a new switch: Engine: The bike was thoroughly serviced in September (New plugs, points and condenser; carbs and oil pump sync’ed, carbs cleaned,) and it starts first kick. It pulls and revs hard on the power band and that beautiful two stroke purr when idling. It dyno’ed at 48 HP (Stock is 40HP) . The battery was replaced two years ago. The engine has not been ported or polished. No mods what so ever, save the chambers. Body: The bike is in excellent original condition and the paint looks terrific.2016-06-20 04:51:26Littleton, Colorado, United States1112000 -

1979 Yamaha IT 400 - Vintage Enduro *** Very Rare*** (1979)
Hi, I am selling my 1979 Yamaha IT 400. I bought this bike to race vintage class, but as my 7 and 5 year old children are getting into riding I have no time to race and find myself coaching most of the time (loving every minute of it too). This bike is mechanically in excellent shape and actually starts easier than my 2007 kx250. I am not going to lie, it could use some TLC in the cosmetic department and that was next on my to do list. However, I am selling this bike so I can get my daughter a new bike. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will ship the bike in the US. I have never shipped a motorcycle so I am going to make the buyer responsible for all the details but I will be happy to help in any way with shipping it. I hope a collector or a vintage racer will pick this bike up as it is in great shape for its age!2013-10-22 00:42:37Riverside, Illinois, US1,000750.00 -

1979 Yamaha 125 Enduro Very Sharp!! (1979)
I bought this bike from a friend who never drove it in the few years he owned it. It's probably been driven 10 miles in the last 5+ years. I put a new spark plug in it and fresh gas, started on the first kick. This bike was owned by a Yamaha mechanic for many years and extremely well kept. Everything works, blinkers, horn, lights etc. Bike is street legal and I have title in hand. Needs carb cleaned or rebuilt, I may do that before auction ends if I have time. It's for sale locally and would trade for ATV with snow plow. Has around 4,500 miles in it. Tires are like new.2013-10-14 00:06:52Cedar Falls, Iowa, US4,500850.00 -

2024 Honda Transalp Review – First Ride
Fri, 03 Nov 2023A European staple comes to America Photos by Align Media/Honda Adventure bikes weren’t really a thing in 1989, at least not in the United States. Even BMW’s venerable GS was nothing more than a misunderstood, oversized dual-purpose machine with ties to the Paris-Dakar rally, which itself was only a little more than a decade old at the time. At the back of the dealership where I worked in 1991, parked next to the tire rack, languished a 1989 Honda XL600V Transalp.

Honda HQ is effectively a campus, with multiple buildings interlinked by arteries of short roads. Walking is the usual method people use to get around.
