    This Yamaha XS 1100 was really great bike when I bought it, but it's been sitting neglected in my garage. It will need a new battery and the carbs sunk plus anything else that a  bike that sits idle will need.I have 5 motorcycles and I know I will never get around to getting the three that are not running back on the road.  Every spring I tell myself I'm going to get this bike running.  And then I spend the summer riding my two bikes that do run.This Yamaha is basically all stock except for the ape hangers I put on several years ago.  And the big dent in the side of the tank-- I added that, too.I have the clean California title ready to sign over.  If you're a motorcycle mechanic, this could be a great bike for you.  Everything is all there.  The bike is complete.  If you are not a mechanic, this is probably not the bike for you.If you have any questions please post them on here.  I will try to answer them as best I can.  The bike is located in Salisbury, NC, which is not too far from Charlotte or Winston.

    Selling my Yamaha XS 650 - 1980I purchased this motorcycle approx 2 years ago.Now has only 3,800 milesPrevious owner started to style after a Cafe Racer look.I have owned plenty of bikes, but this Yamaha is the mostfun to ride / VERY Reliable - Starts every time - No Issues.After having Knee surgery, it  just doesn't make sense o keep this great motorcycle. PS: The bike has some ( dents / dings / scratches ) - Original paint on tank, but fender paintis not original.I do have the Yamaha ( emblems and original seat )The pics make the bike look a bit too clean - could use a professional polish, etc...

  • 1980 Yamaha XS1980 Yamaha XS (1980)
    This is a Yamaha XS 650 special which has been lightly customized with low bars, bar end mirrors, fork boots, Harley style mufflers, and a unique seat cowl.  The bike has a clear PA title signed by the previous owner.  I noticed that while the mileage on the title states 28000 the mileage on the speedometer is 23500.  The bike started easily on fresh gas and idled and accelerated smoothly on a 10 mile test drive.  I did not exceed 65 mph as the tires are dry and have sidewall cracks, but the bike seemed to have plenty more speed on tap.  All gears shifted well and all lights and instruments work. The mufflers are not as loud as they look and bike has a deep mellow tone.  The engine does not make any unusual noises.  The brakes felt a little spongy and probably need some attention.   There is a dent in the tachometer housing (see picture.)  There is a deep scratch on the top of the front fender but is is hard to see (see picture.)   There are small tears at the front lower corners of the seat cover that have been sewn up (see picture.)

    This is a very nice bike, in great shape, starts easy, first or second kick has electric start as well but will need repair, I just use the kick start. Bike has nice metallic orange paint in good shape with one small chip on the tank. the engine does have an oil leak from the camshaft seals, it has never leaked enough to bother me into fixing it.

    Here is a 1980 Yamaha XS Eleven with 54,813 miles that needs work,i picked this up locally from a party who wasnt completely honest about the condition of the bike he said it needed carb work,runs with the choke on only,battery,brake work and has a charging problem it doesnt charge might need a stater,but he didnt mention anything about the smoke that comes out of the left muffler and the oil that leaks a little from somewhere,i arrived at his house and he had it running i said its smoking out the left muffler and he said dont worry about that it will go away i had to use starting fluid to start it,i got home with the bike and it started without starting fluid but still smoked maybe even more than it did when i was talking to the seller so im guessing it needs valve seats,or valve work,or rings,or maybe the carbs are leaking gas down the cylinders or all of the above so im passing the project onto the next person who wants to repair it,tank is clean inside,throttle and choke move freely,i took a picture of the tach while it was running and got lucky for a secound and snapped a picture of the tach at  about five thousand rpms,clutch lever pulls in,tranni shifts threw all the gears good and i asked the seller if the tranni was good and he said yes,front brakes were dragging on the rotors so they had to be onbolted to move the bike,horn works,right turn signal works,left comes on but doesnt blink,headlite taillite and brake lite work,bike has a custom paint job and a touch up pen same color goes with also the tool kit,selling as is,buyer pays shipping and finds there own shipper not sure there prices i can meet them at my door and i dont really have the room to store the bike after the auction ends,paypal accepted as payment if your not local,i have a clear Title,auction may end early because a watcher on ebay might want to purchase the bike before the auction ends,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding Carl in forest lake minnesota 55025.

We’ve known the XR150L and the low-seat CRF300LS were on the way, after the two dual sports were included on a list of motorcycles certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

A US announcement is expected soon Last month, we reported that Honda was preparing to bringing the XR150L dual sport to the U.S. market, introducing an air-cooled carbureted model marketed internationally as an agricultural vehicle to America. While we’re still waiting for a formal announcement form American Honda, it’s Canadian counterparts confirmed the XR150L will be arriving to North America.

By John Burns 1990 Honda ST1100 begat 2003 Honda ST1300, which begat 2014 Honda CTX1300… which at some point in the last few years seems to have gone, mercifully, the way of all flesh. Now if it’s a Honda sport tourer you crave, it’s the Gold Wing or, well, that’s about it. Anyway, the big 1261cc V-four ST1300 was quite the long-distance mile muncher 20 years ago.
