Honda CL description

As much as I hate to, it’s time to sell my Dad’s all-original 1968 CL90 scrambler. This is the bike I learned to ride on, and it’s been in and out of our family since it was new…but never too far, and it always came back. Now it’s time to find it a new home.

Bike is a real and rare classic. 7918 orignial miles. It’s not in perfect condition as photos show, but it starts on the first or second kick and runs great. Bike has always been garage kept and it comes with a load of extras. I have both the original owner’s manual AND shop manual. It comes with extra battery and battery acid, sprocket, points, tube, vetter back box, entire set of gaskets, cables, and a spare headlamp. Recently installed new OEM floats, float needle, and jet needle; remainder of carb rebuilt kit is included. May also be able to include an aftermarket windscreen, but still searching for it.

As pictures show, there is some slight tearing in the seat, some dings on the front fender, and some small paint nicks, but it really is in great condition overall. There will be a youtube video up shortly showing the bike running so you can hear how smooth it is. Bike has a clear NJ title and is ready to ride, though you may want to replace the tires for that cross country trip ;)

Buyer is entirely responsible for any and all shipping arrangements, though I would be willing to deliver or meet you within 50 miles +/- of NC 28655. Bike is super light and very easy to load and handle. Please feel free to ask any questions, check my perfect feedback, and thank you for looking at our bike.

Joey Dunlop on a V4 Honda at the '83 TT

Fri, 28 Sep 2012

Onboard video footage doesn't get a lot better than this: Joey Dunlop during practice at the TT in 1983 onboard a factory Honda RS850R. An 859cc ultra-short stroke V4 Honda that Joey mastered around The Island, later winning the TT Formula 1. Although the 'production' race, the RS850R stretched that to the limit.

I'm buying a Honda SH300i scooter

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

I want to buy a second bike to get across town on the daily commute as I currently ride a 183bhp ZX-10R to work and while it's a peach of a bike, it tempts me into doing bad things on a daily basis. This has to stop. My criteria is fairly simple: I want something that is cheap to buy (close to £2k), cheap to run, frugal on the fuel, easy to ride, nimble through traffic, dull enough to not get nicked and ABS is a deal-maker.

Things I wouldn't like to race: Part 1

Mon, 25 Jul 2011

Now I know that Mike Hailwood raced a 6-cylinder Honda but that's no excuse for this CBX I spotted at the Bikers Days Spa Classic. The 1047cc, inline 6 cylinder, 24 Valve, DOHC Honda might be a feat of engineering brilliance but it looks like it would be a right handful on track. I've added a picture of an oil tanker to give you an idea of just how long the CBX's wheelbase really is.
