Honda CL description

Excellent condition low mileage (4777) Scrambler.  I recently purchased at an Estate Sale from the widow of the Owner.  According to her - her husband spent a lot of money to "redo" this MC.  He never rode it - Just sat in the garage.  There is a LOT of chrome on the bike and everything looks wonderful,

IT is supposed to be a 2 owner Texas bike - I don't know how to verify that but it does not show much if any normal wear and tear.  PO has owned it since 1982. The tires look great and are road worthy.  Chain likewise. I put a battery and gas in it and it started on the second kick.  This thing is way LOUD and very powerful. I am surprised at the power.  Shifts and stops well. It has the baffles removed from the exhaust and I have them - excellent condition and will be included in the sale.  Has the tool box and a plastic container full of tools. looks to be original.

Gas tank and side panels look recently painted.  The is a lot of chrome and it looks great.  Would look great in anyone's collection.  2 problems I will note.  Seat is original and the pan is in excellent condition. there is a tear in the middle of the top that has been repaired.  there are no other nicks or tears in the seat and it has the strap and SS trim. I did buy a seatcover but did not put it on.  You may want to leave it stock.  I will include it with the bike.

I added in-line gas filters.  The inside of the tank looks good. Cannot see any obvious rust - It looks like it has the "red-kote" coating in it.  Anyway no problems with junk coming out of the tank.  I did use non-ethanol gas - premium .BTW I drained the tank and carb bowls after I rode tested the bike. The key (1) works the ignition and the steering lock. The steering damper is there. the rear footpegs are there.

Has the rubber battery hold down strap.  Even has the small metal clips on the handlebar to hold the electric cable in place.

Center stand and side stand are there and function properly.

Has the correct paper air filters.

Did I forget to mention that there is a lot of chrome/new paint and it all looks great.

Morocco by bike

Wed, 04 May 2011

If you've never been to Morocco, you have missed out, big time. If you were going to go to Morocco on a bike, we'd suggest going along with a living legend like Mick Extance, a five time finisher of the Dakar rally. Maybe the video will whet your appetite.

Voluntary Recall for Continental ContiMotion Sport-Touring Tires

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Continental Tire announced a voluntary recall campaign for certain ContiMotion sport-touring tires. According to Continental, market feedback has shown some tires may experience uneven wear from the 180/60R16 74H ContiMotion rear tires. Tires may develop groove cracking and, in some cases, belt lift, conditions which can lead to a loss of tire inflation pressure and a potential for loss of control.
