Honda CBX description

Up for auction is my 1979 Perseus Silver CBX, which has 12k miles on it. It is in excellent condition, and is 100% road-ready. THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST  SILVER Z BIKES OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE IN 1978 , # 2159 - first registered in 1979.

I purchased the bike in 2009. It has been stored covered, by the previous owner and me, in a climate-controlled building.  Gas tank and carburetor have been seasonally drained.

The speed-tach-volt cluster was replaced by the previous owner, due to ultra-violet discoloration.  The current odometer shows 3974 miles.  Actual mileage is just over 12,000.

Has the Euro (GP) kit.  Original paint.  No tears in the upholstery, no scratches or scrapes.

The engine has been regularly maintained - oil, filter, and spark plugs have just been changed.  No engine leaks.

Brand new front and rear Dunlop tires.  The battery is one year old.

Exhaust is in excellent condition. Fork seals do not leak. Chain and sprockets near original condition.

The previous owner stored the bike from 1996 until I bought it in April, 2009.  I have put 3680 miles on it in the 4 years I've owned it.  I have been a certified Honda auto technician for 38 yrs., and have owned and maintained motorcycles all my life.  I have taken meticulous care of this bike and can honestly state that it starts and runs like new.

I have a clear Ohio title.

Here's an opportunity to own one of the rare early production CBX classics.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Thanks for looking, Rob

NR750 owners should require approval

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

Words can't express the absolute disbelief of this strangely attired guy trying to ride one of the rarest motorcycles every to grace tarmac. But this clip descends in to absurdity when the rider fumbles setting off on the Honda NR750 and drops the oval-pistoned beauty on its side. Did he stall it or is there a disc lock hidden within the pixilated video?

Honda is reportedly moving production of 400cc and larger motorcycles to Thailand from Japan to reduce production costs and overcome the rising value of the yen. According to Japanese news outlet Daily Yomiuri, Honda plans to produce 400cc and 500cc models at a new factory to be built in the suburbs of Bangkok, Thailand. Honda currently produces small displacement models such as the CBR250R in Thailand, with larger models coming out of Honda’s factory in Kumamoto, Japan.
