Honda CB description
Extremely Ultra Rare Classic Collectable CB1100R.....The Honda CB1100R was one of the first exotics from Honda - produced in limited numbers from 1981–1983. It was a full fairing sport bike based on the Honda CB900F, with the R suffix denoting a racing version produced so that Honda could homologate the R as a production motorcycle for European and Australian tracks and prove their design in the race world. It was Honda's first 'homologation special'; primarily sold in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Europe and none were imported into the USA. The factory punched the engine out to 1062cc with a (70mm) bore and fully powered to 120hp. Hotter camshafts, forged pistons, a wider primary chain and upgraded gearbox were used. For racing conditions the alternator was lightened and some R's even have a lightened starter clutch gear. Only 1,500 examples were built in 1983.

While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.
