1977 BMW R-Series (1977)
1977 BMW R100/RS You have a chance to bid on this 1977 BMW R100RS, serial#6180044. An early first year model built 08/76 and originally owned by Malcolm Forbes. This is the first model year for the R100RS with the wind tunnel designed frame mounted fairing which all sport and touring motorcycles would follow to this day. Even today this is one of if not the best fairing ever put on a motorcycle. I have owned this bike about 25 years and did the restoration about 10-12 years ago. I started with a numbers matching 1 of 200 40mm big pipe/big valve bike in vgc. I purchased the bike with 6016 miles and pretty much rode it all over the country before the restoration. Since then it has been ridden a few hundred miles per year now showing 36,XXX miles. The bike runs as good as it looks. No expense has ever been spared on maintenance or during the restoration. The bike has CC ported and polished heads with hardened seats, Dyna3 ignition, carbs completely rebuilt with alcohol proof independent floats, lightened and balanced flywheel with all new clutch components. Wheels and chassis have all new bearings, all new rubber, seals, cables, etc. Everything works exactly as it should except the clock which loses some time lately. If bike does not sell right away I may get the clock fixed. Forks rebuilt, Koni shocks, Westco battery, complete charging system redone with HD diode board, both seats, BMW touring cases, Browns sidestand, Luftmeister windshield, etc. You can get on this bike today and ride cross-country with confidence.2016-11-13 04:46:56Stewartsville, New Jersey, United States3627000

This is a beautiful R100S survivor that was loved by 3 documented owners since new. The original owner took the bike to San Jose BMW and had their reinforced swing arm installed as well as having the head dual plugged and a fork brace installed. He kept a meticulous notebook with not only the maintenance records but all the brochures from San Jose and the materials that outline everything he did to the bike.2016-10-29 04:44:12Novato, California, United States3327000

1977 BMW R100/7this is a fantastic bike with plenty of power and great looks. the paint was inspired by a old Porsche racing color in the 60s and was pinstriped by the guy at Counts Customs in Las Vegas. this was a mint barn find sitting in a air conditioned storage unit for over 10 years. the carbs and the valves have been gone throughnewer tirescustom subframecustom top grain leather seatnew valve covers converted the speedometer to digital with a Acewell unit and the bike only had about 42k on the clock and now is about 44k miles andc these bikes can go forever if you treat them right.renthal barsengine guards with fog lampbiltwell gripsnew exhaust mufflersand lots more. I took this bike on a 800 mile trip earlier this year and it is a champ 80-95 mph all day long. message me if you have any questions. Complete frame-up restoration by well-regarded Mid-West independent BMW tech ( a good friend of mine who originally planned to keep the bike for himself ) of my 1,000cc matching numbers '77 R100RS. This example is one of the approximately 200-only of first year production 40mm intake/exhaust ( "big pipe" ) 70 HP models ever imported into the US. As far as I know, future RS models reverted to a 38mm configuration producing less HP.2016-07-19 04:49:41Prescott, Arizona, United States68,999.00

1977 R100/7 classic airhead, 1000cc with fairing and hard cases-runs beautifully (1977)
This is a NO RESERVE listing. This is my 1977 BMW R100/7 motorcycle. At the time, this was the finest, most desirable motorcycle in the world- this was the Rolls-Royce of motorcycling. This was the biggest, most powerful bike built by BMW, makers of the "Legendary German Motorcycles". This bike has been owned by a classic auto and motorcycle enthusiast and it runs, rides and performs very well. This bike starts and runs great and it is smooth, powerful and rides great. 2024 Honda Transalp Review – First Ride
Fri, 03 Nov 2023A European staple comes to America Photos by Align Media/Honda Adventure bikes weren’t really a thing in 1989, at least not in the United States. Even BMW’s venerable GS was nothing more than a misunderstood, oversized dual-purpose machine with ties to the Paris-Dakar rally, which itself was only a little more than a decade old at the time. At the back of the dealership where I worked in 1991, parked next to the tire rack, languished a 1989 Honda XL600V Transalp.

Honda HQ is effectively a campus, with multiple buildings interlinked by arteries of short roads. Walking is the usual method people use to get around.

Church of MO: 2003 Honda ST1300
Sun, 29 Jan 2023By John Burns 1990 Honda ST1100 begat 2003 Honda ST1300, which begat 2014 Honda CTX1300… which at some point in the last few years seems to have gone, mercifully, the way of all flesh.
