1981 Honda CB 900 I bought 2 years ago in original condition, I changed the oil and put about 2000 miles on it I tried to restore it and in the process of sanding the tank I put a pin hole that you can't see with the naked eye but leaked gas after a few hundred miles. The leaking caused the paint to flake off the tank, so the gas tank needs to be sealed and repainted. It was starting to get colder when this happened so its been stored since. It also needs a new battery. It ran great before it was stored for winter. Will need very little work before it is street ready. This bike ran pretty well 2 years ago before it was put away for the winter. A couple weeks ago I pulled it out of the mothballs, started it up and found it was running on 3 cylinders. I took the carbs off, cleaned them, and ran a bottle of B-12 carb cleaner through the gas. It is now running on all 4 cylinders, but backfires on deceleration. It has brand new tires with less than 10 miles on them, has new headlight ears, new headlight, new battery and both cam timing chains have recently been changed along with new rings and valve adjustment. It comes with 2 Vetter hard bags that are in decent shape, along with mounting hardware. And if that isn’t unique enough, the concept is also two-wheel drive, with an electric motor in the front wheel hub. It’s too soon to know when the Hero RNT 150 TDI concept will ever make it to serial production, but the scooter does represent a technological show of force, proving that Hero can carry on its own research and development following its split from longtime partner Honda.

Wed, 29 Jan 2014Honda announced sales of 16.8 million motorcycles in 2013, an improvement of 8.7% from the 15.5 million motorcycles sold in 2012. The announcement was made two days before Honda’s third quarter report for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2013, so we will have to wait to hear the financial impact, but based on these numbers, the quarterly report should be positive.

Mon, 27 Jan 2014Honda presented its 2014 World Superbike and Supersport team, including the new CBR1000RR SP racebike in a presentation at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona, Italy. Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam are returning in the Pata Honda team colors to ride the CBR1000RR SP in the WSBK class while Michael van der Mark and Lorenzo Zanetti will ride the CBR600RR in the WSS championship. Last season was disappointing for Honda, with both Rea and Haslam missing significant time due to leg injuries.
