Everything else is stock. 5 speed transmission with Hi-Lo, making for a 10 speed transmission! VERY strong engine. No hesitation. Idles and runs flawlessly. Shaft driven. Tires have 100 miles on them, no dryrot. Fresh oil, filter, spark plugs,brake/hydraulic fluid, final drive fluid, and new battery. Carburetors cleaned and fresh fuel on 9/17. Compression was tested on 9/17 and is perfect, and there is no smoke, so the rings are in proper running shape. The charging system was tested on 9/17 and is operating perfectly. A comprehensive service/tune up/safety check was also performed on 9/17. This bike has high mileage, but is a Honda and has been maintained very well, so with continued proper maintenance it could reach 80-100,000 miles or more. The low-end power of this bike leaves nothing to be desired. I have seen these bikes turned into cafe racers, but this one is a rider, so its legal for the street. Passengers ride comfortably. Adjustable air ride suspension (fill module under left side cover) has no leaks. This is one of the last muscle bikes made! MOTORCYCLE WILL PASS MD STATE INSPECTION. Inspection available per buyer request for an additional $65.

When he signed with the team, Eugene Laverty said he would give all he possibly could to bring Suzuki back to the top of the podium once again. Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.

EICMA 2013: 2014 Honda VFR800F

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Gracing the new 2014 VFR800F is traction control, ABS, heated grips, adjustable seat height and self-canceling blinkers. The V-Four-powered machine has been re-tuned  for greater low and mid-range torque, and also receives a new telescopic fork, Pro-arm swingarm, wheels, new, slimmer bodywork and styling. Starting with the 782cc V4-VTEC engine, Honda engineers focused mainly on cam timing and valve duration/overlap to increase low-to midrange power and torque, claiming 104.5 hp @ 10,250 rpm and 55.4 ft-lbs of torque @ 8,500 rpm. Bore and stroke is 72mm x 48mm, with compression ratio of 11.8:1. VTEC valve timing still operates one pair of inlet/exhaust valves per cylinder at low rpm, and then switches to four as revs rise. Honda’s single-mode Traction Control System (TCS) is fitted as standard equipment and is operated from the left handlebar.
