Honda 1980 CX500. Clean Illinois title. 15,601 miles.
I recently purchased this bike from custom builder but decided to start another project.
The pictures were taken from the builder in May 2016. Complete walk around video can be seen on YouTube (again by the builder): Just search for Honda CX500 Cafe Racer Nonek I can deliver the bike within 50 miles from the Lake Zurich area of Illinois free of charge. Anything beyond that would be up to you. A $500 non refundable paypal down payment is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The bike is in excellent condition but here are the blemishes or todo(s): - 2 tiny pinhole size dents on the tank, about the size of a sharp pencil head, very difficult to see unless you in the sunlight and looking for it. Even the video does not capture it. - Seat pan could be secured a little better (just my opinion). - Tank, fender and seat pan should be clear coated (again just my opinion). - The wire terminal for the rear turn signals broke off the left controls. The wire is intact so you would need to just put on new terminal (about 2cents at radio shack) and attach it back on. - A shorter clutch cable as the extra length puts a extra friction making the pull harder than it should be.

Honda to Sponsor and Compete in 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Tue, 23 Apr 2013American Honda announced it will be a partnering sponsor for the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb while also entering the competition, racing in nine different classes (well, seventh, plus “Exhibition” entries in both car and motorcycle categories). Honda R&D staff, engineers, test riders and drivers will compete in car, motorcycle and ATV categories. Honda will field a record ten entries in all, with nine different vehicles including the CBR1000RR, CBR600RR, CRF450R and CRF250R.
EICMA 2013: 2014 Honda VFR800F
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Gracing the new 2014 VFR800F is traction control, ABS, heated grips, adjustable seat height and self-canceling blinkers. The V-Four-powered machine has been re-tuned for greater low and mid-range torque, and also receives a new telescopic fork, Pro-arm swingarm, wheels, new, slimmer bodywork and styling. Starting with the 782cc V4-VTEC engine, Honda engineers focused mainly on cam timing and valve duration/overlap to increase low-to midrange power and torque, claiming 104.5 hp @ 10,250 rpm and 55.4 ft-lbs of torque @ 8,500 rpm. Bore and stroke is 72mm x 48mm, with compression ratio of 11.8:1. VTEC valve timing still operates one pair of inlet/exhaust valves per cylinder at low rpm, and then switches to four as revs rise. Honda’s single-mode Traction Control System (TCS) is fitted as standard equipment and is operated from the left handlebar.
