Honda CB description

For auction is a beautiful 1980 model Honda CB900 Custom. I have never seen a bike of this age in this pristine of condition, save for museum bikes. This bike is a one owner bike that lived it's whole life in a climate controlled garage under a cover. It hadn't been started in a couple years and hadn't been actually ridden since the mid 90's when I acquired it and did the necessary check-ups and maintenance to get it road ready again. The following maintenance was performed on the bike prior to giving it it's first start in a while:

  • 100% carburetor rebuild with all new gaskets, o rings, rubber parts, diaphragms, all metal parts cleaned in ChemDip to new condition, bench sync'd etc.
  • New genuine Honda carburetor intake boots
  • New battery
  • Brake fluid flush/bled and pistons/seals cleaned
  • Fuel tank flushed, new fuel line and fuel filter
  • Oil change and oil filter/gaskets
  • Air filter checked and is in good condition with life left
The bike starts immediately and idles like a sewing machine. Pulls hard through all 10 gears. All lights work as they should and oil level light works as it should (checked it for functionality when I changed the oil, it's on in the picture because the bike wasn't running when I took them, it turns off).

The stock seat is technically NOS because it had a Hondaline King and Queen with a Honda sissy bar on it that was placed on it immediately after purchase, the original seat was stored until I placed it back on. The king/queen with sissy are going to be in another auction with some highway foot pegs.

The "good":
  • Pipes are in great condition and not rusted as is common
  • No rust to be found on the bike and all chrome looks new
  • Not a single scratch anywhere on the paint, the paint is amazing
  • Seat technically NOS
  • Low miles at 8K means it hasn't even met it's first manufacturer suggested maintenance period
  • Original maintenance binder and Honda tire gauge included

The "bad":
  • #1 cylinder air box boot has a tear and needs to be replaced. It's around $15 from Honda and does need to be done immediately.
  • Grab bar missing bolts which were lost in storage, 50mm x 8mm bolts
  • Inside of tank isn't perfect, it was a little spotty from sitting when I got it and I flushed with Yamalube Fuel Tank Restorer kit but it didn't get it perfect because I didn't give it enough time. Another flush would do the trick if it's a concern.
  • Has one small scrape area on the rear fender from the sissy bar edge rubbing on the chrome
Also included is the original cloth covered Honda Maintenance binder specific to this bike. 2 keys are included, original tool kit included and even the original Honda tire pressure gauge.

I can send more photos of whatever is desired, like pictures of the additional items. I maxed out the number I can include on the auction. Shipping will be the buyer's responsibility to align. I can deliver up to 150 miles at buyer's expense per mile if necessary.

I tend to write a whole lot about the things I sell, I just want my buyers to get as much information as they may need!

My number is 865 805 1177 if you would like to discuss the bike and the possibility of a buy it now price.

Feel free to ask me any questions, and thanks for looking!

2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.

WSBK: 2012 Donington Results – Video

Mon, 14 May 2012

BMW earned its first-ever World Superbike race win at the U.K.’s Donington Park, but missed out on sweeping the round after teammates Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri crashed on the final corner while battling for the lead in the second race. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.

Two Flagstaff Residents To Ride Small Motorcycles Across Arizona For Charity

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

In June, Flagstaff residents Eva Rupert and Josh Remer will be riding vintage 100cc motorcycles across the state of Arizona to raise money for Blood:Water Mission, a Nashville non-profit that builds HIV/AIDS clinics and clean water wells in Africa. Both Josh and Eva are avid motorcyclists and wanted a way to use what they love to make a difference in the world. They see their ride as a more exciting version of a walk-a-thon.
