1978 Honda Cb 550, 1978 Honda CB550K 14,500 miles. Daily Rider. Bought from estate of original owner. This bike had sat in a garage under a bike cover, apparently since the late 1980s. Top end rebuilt, all engine gaskets from cylinders up (including head gasket) replaced. Carbs completely rebuilt and synched. Removed pod filters and restored original stock air intake and jetting for best performance New Kenda Challenger tires and tubes, professionally installed and balanced Rebuilt brake master cylinder and caliper, new stainless steel brake lines Changed fork oil seals good New roller-type steering head bearings Fresh engine oil and filter, oil pan and sump cleaned Fuel tank cleaned (no rust, tank coating was not required) New petcock Valves and cam chain adjusted New Motion Pro throttle cables (pull and push), clutch cable and choke cable New battery Rear brake cleaned, inspected and adjusted New drive chain and sprockets Custom Travelcade seat (also throwing in a stock flat seat off a 1977 CB550K, which is the only other year that fits this bike) The only modifications on the bike are: Kerker 4-into-1 exhaust, the Travelcade seat and a headlight modulator (makes the hi-beam strobe flash for better visibility). Original paint and decals. There are a few minor nicks in the paint on the tank visible close up. but the side covers are pristine. The chrome is nearly perfect. Looks and runs great. With silly season occurring much earlier following Stoner's announcement at the French GP in May, rumours and speculation have been banded around with three candidates leading the way: Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.
