Candy Garnet Brown. Electronic ignition and kick start work like a champ. All lights work and horn works. This bike will need a front brake caliper rebuild because the brake is sticky but it still works and stops the bike just fine. The issue is that the brake lever won't spring all the way back out and has slop in it. Could probably use a carb clean, or just an adjustment because the bike will hesitate when you hit the throttle, but accelerates just fine after the initial stutter. Drips a small amount of oil from the pan. Side panel over battery is cracked. Small dent on front fender, as well as on chrome guard on the fork, otherwise incredibly nice. Some pitting on the chrome here and there such as on the blinkers. I put new tires on it last year and they still have the nipples on them. New battery last year as well. The bike gets compliments all the time, and gets guys reminiscing about how they had a 550 as their first bike, etc. Great as is, or would be a good start for a custom brat or cafe bike. Recall on Kuryakyn Transformer Passenger Floorboards for Honda Gold Wing
Tue, 20 Dec 2011Accessory manufacturer Küryakyn is issuing a recall on its Transformer passenger floorboards for the 2001-2011 Honda Gold Wing. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounts of the Küryakyn Transformer floorboards may crack and break free from the mounting bolts. The floorboards may unexpectedly fall off the motorcycle, potentially leading to a crash or injury.

Sat, 10 Dec 2011There are no plans yet to bring either model to the U.S., but Honda is bringing its new NC700S and NC700X models to Canada for the summer of 2012. American Honda will however, likely be keeping a close eye on how the new models do with its northern neighbor (or perhaps “neighbour”) before deciding whether to import the NC700 models stateside. Making their North American debuts at the 2011 Toronto Motorcycle Show, the naked standard NC700S and the more adventure-touring styled NC700X represent a new product family for Honda, sharing the same frame and 670cc parallel Twin engine with each other and the Honda Integra scooter-motorcycle crossover (speaking of which, there are no plans for the Integra to come to either the U.S.
WSBK 2013: Nurburgring Race Report
Tue, 03 Sep 2013Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.
