Honda CB description

***1976 Honda CB 550-Four***

This is a relist due to non-paying foreign buyer "anotella-manager"!

This is now a United States only auction!

Check out this beautiful old Honda.  This is the last-year of the vintage style paint job and a very nice daily rider.  It looks, sounds, and runs great with no known mechanical issues other than a little seepage around one of the cam-cover gaskets and a cracked rubber boot on one of the carbs (I will order gaskets and this boot and include them with the bike).  Goes through all the gears with no issues and everything works as it should including all electrical components.  This bike has been owned by the same person since 1982 and has always been garage kept?   If you have any questions or concerns, please ask.  Pipes are from a cb500 but look and sound great.

Check my feedback and bid with the confidence in knowing that I will be honest with you and you will get the bike as advertised!

If you are new to eBay, then you may not be aware that your bid means you are buying what you are bidding on.   If you have zero feedback you must contact me to let me know that you are serious about completing the sale or I will cancel your bid.   Please, please bid only if you really want the item

All shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer!  I will accept paypal only under certain conditions!  The winning bidder must contact me immediately to set up payment arrangements.  Once full payment is received, I will release the bike to the shipper  I have several High-quality shippers I know personally that can move this bike for you at a very reasonable price,  basically anywhere in the country for $600 or less depending on your location.

I am not desperate to sell, am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. I will not sugarcoat anything for the sake of a few extra dollars and am not in the business to screw anyone. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection.  This is an AWESOME motorcycle!

You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the bike prior to bidding.

Although this bike is sold "As Is" and "Without Warranty", I want you to be happy and I will do anything within reason to me to see that you are. Thank you and good luck!

If you have any questions, please ask them now before you bid or buy!

I reserve the right to end this auction at any time in order to sell this item locally as well.  However, once reserve has been met, the bike will go to the highest bidder here on ebay!

Please read ALL shipping and payment information before bidding.

Good Luck!

On Aug-20-13 at 22:42:31 PDT, seller added the following information:

Gaskets and carburetor boot have been ordered and will come with the bike.  Also, I wanted to note here that there is a slight clutch-chatter when the bike is cold and at idle.  This is VERY common on these old Hondas and even some of the newer crotch-rockets.  There are no MECHANICAL issues with the clutch, it works great and has plenty of life left!  Just wanted to be FULLY transparent here.  If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

Get the Flash Player to see this player. When it comes to motorcycle races, there are two that separate the men from the boys: the Isle of Man TT and the Macau Grand Prix. Both races are held on public roads with little to no margin for error.

Shunji Yokokawa

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Honda Project Leader Shunji Yokokawa's first Honda bike was a CB900, which he got when he was a teenager after seeing Freddie Spencer wheeling his way down the Laguna's Corkscrew.Yokokawa has been in the States himself recently, having travelled to the Bonneville Salt Flats to break a world land speed record for a stock 600cc motorcycle.According to the Southern California Timing Association website (you'd have thought the video might have mentioned something about the record?), Shunji was successful in his attempt during August's 'Speed Week', setting an official speed of 170.828mph onboard a CBR600RR.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
