1966 BMW R27, 250cc single, VIN# 380737 (VIN, engine, and ID tag all match), mileage 26,890, and it's in excellent original condition. The bike was first sold in early 1967 and it has a clear 1967 Florida title. Reason for selling: making room in my collection for some new additions. You can see my other auction item, a 1957 Triumph TRW. The bike's history as it was told to me when I purchased it: I'm the 3rd owner.2016-08-15 04:59:21Pacific Grove, California, United States2627000

1966 BMW R-Series (1966)
1966 R69S BMW Stunning condition museum quality R69S BMW . Triple numbers matching. Excellent restoration quality and in top condition today. Beautiful bright chrome, newer tires, professionally polished aluminum. Great running and ready to go anywhere. The cosmetics are amazing as everything is exceptionally detailed. Great paint and pin stripping. The engine runs like new and has excellent compression. I believe the drive train is rebuilt but I don't have any documentation. The motor has no smoke on start up and while running sounds absolutely normal and healthy with that nice vintage BMW sound. Oil seals are good and bike is dry underneath. I would not be afraid to ride this bike coast to coast and having said that we have a commercial airport nearby so a buyer could fly in and drive out with the bike. The bike has some wear from saddle bags on the paint. It is light and hard to see but it is there on shock towers and lightly on the fenders by the shock towers. This is hard to see and you really have to look. There are a few minor chips in the paint that are also hard to notice. One chip is the earls swing arm another is the top of the fork coveror triple tree top plate. Gas tank and headlight bucket are great nice paint and no dents. Some battery acid stains on one exhaust. I am including a set of chrome passenger foot pegs as I lost one of the original passenger pegs from the bike. I am also including some correct fuel line which I bought and never installed. The title states the year of manufacture as 1966 If you have any questions please email them or call me at: 92O-2O5-OO13.2016-07-28 04:55:37Kaukauna, Wisconsin, United States633600

1966 BMW R-Series (1966)
I have owned this bike for the last 6 years after acquired it from the original owner in Minnesota. The bike was shipped the bike to Todd Rasmussen in Oklahoma for a complete restoration and I gave Todd instructions to build me a show quality bike to the highest standards while maintaining absolute originality from the factory wherever possible. Todd’s work is well known in the BMW circles and I have had NO issues with anything he has ever built for me over the years including my prewar bikes.2016-07-20 04:55:37Irvine, California, United States49314505

This 1966 BMW R27 is in original and excellent condition. It starts, runs and rides very well. Speedometer works, light works, usually starts with one kick. It has a few dull spots in the paint, a small dent in the headlight housing, but the tank is very nice and clean inside.2016-06-14 15:47:38Montgomery, Alabama, United States138,500.00

1966 BMW R69S (1966)
RELISTING DUE TO A NON-PAYING BIDDER. If you don't have any intention of paying, don't bid. I will obtain each bidder's telephone number and call them to verify funding prior to end of auction. 1966 BMW R69S The BMW R69S was originally produced from 1960 – 1969. Of the 11,317 sold, this may be the most pristine one left. This Best of Show award winner will turn heads wherever it goes. With only 3 owners in nearly 50 years (original owner, his son, and me), this bike has been meticulously maintained by all 3 owners. After recently retiring, it is time to trade in my Bavarian beauty for something with an electric start. The bike has 26,742 miles, believed to be original, and runs well. Everything is original on the bike except the paint. The previous owners painted the bike so it is not the original BMW white. Numbers match on frame and motor. The bike kicks within 2 – 3 kicks and, with new carbs mounted in 2006, runs smoothly. Tires have 80% tread on them and the bike rides straight without pulling. Everything on the bike is in working condition. Features include: Won Best of Show in Lima, Ohio in early 2000s. An aftermarket fairing that makes this bike a one-of-a-kind Aftermarket seat German leather bags Custom paint Since this BMW R69S has been sitting in the garage for a while, it will need a new battery and tune-up.2013-09-05 08:25:58Plano, Texas, US27,0007,300.00

BMW R69S 1966 Restored (1966)
This is a 1966 BMW R69S sport model. The engine, frame and ID tag ALL have matching numbers 661164 and comes with a title. This motorcycle has just had a complete restoration by a certified BMW mechanic who has had many years of experience in restorations. The engine, transmission and final drive (gear ratio 25/8) were completely rebuilt with ALL new bearings and seals. The engine had the slingers cleaned. Anything that needed to be replaced was replaced if not within specs. The carburetors (matching and correct R69S) were cleaned, blasted and rebuilt. The frame and frontend was bead blasted and powder coated black. The frame has the tapered steering head bearings installed. All of the hardware was cad plated and anything that was chromed was rechromed. It has a NEW wiring harness. The sheet metal was in very nice condition and needed very minimal work. It was bead blasted and painted with a single stage black paint and was hand pinstriped like they were originally. The fuel tank is the large “sport tank” and the inside is perfect. The rims are the “Weinmann” aluminum and were laced with Buchannan stainless spokes. The exhaust is NEW reproduction, but is very nice. The speedometer is not the original one, as I had the original sent out to get rebuilt but that never happened so I got it back. I will include the original speedometer which is complete but needs to be rebuilt. I will also leave the current speedometer in the bucket. This motorcycle runs great and is very smooth and quiet. It has less than 50 miles on it since the rebuild and restoration. I really don’t want to sell this bike, but I live on a gravel road and I refuse to ride this beautiful machine down a gravel road. This is sold “as is” with no warranty. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due to my PayPal account within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance is due by wire transfer or bank check upon picking up the motorcycle. I can assist with loading the bike or any other way that you may need. Please ask any and all questions…you may call me direct 952.994.8411…Thank you2013-09-04 07:44:11Farmington, Minnesota, US9,99915,500.00

2024 Honda Transalp Review – First Ride
Fri, 03 Nov 2023A European staple comes to America Photos by Align Media/Honda Adventure bikes weren’t really a thing in 1989, at least not in the United States. Even BMW’s venerable GS was nothing more than a misunderstood, oversized dual-purpose machine with ties to the Paris-Dakar rally, which itself was only a little more than a decade old at the time. At the back of the dealership where I worked in 1991, parked next to the tire rack, languished a 1989 Honda XL600V Transalp.

Church of MO: 2003 Honda ST1300
Sun, 29 Jan 2023By John Burns 1990 Honda ST1100 begat 2003 Honda ST1300, which begat 2014 Honda CTX1300… which at some point in the last few years seems to have gone, mercifully, the way of all flesh.
