  Spectacular restoration of a 1966 BSA Lightning 650.    This comes out of a private collection and was formerly owned and ridden by a famous musician-singer-songwriter…..name to be known to the buyer of this bike.    Out of respect and privacy, the name of this person will not be released in this description.    The bike has been meticulously cared for, maintained and stored inside.    The bike looks and runs like new.    The pictures tell it all and you will not find a nicer ’66 BSA Lightning out there.    The bike comes with a clear title, which is signed by and still in the musicians name. Purchased this bike from an acquaintance who rode it some and shortly thereafter began a restoration.  He had the motor and gear box apart, installed a lot of new parts, put it back together and could never get it to run.  Frustrated, it sat in his garage for the last 5 years collecting dust.

This bike is sold in as is condition with no warranty. I have owned this motorcycle for 2 years but have to thin out my collection due to health and other concerns. While this bike is not perfect it is in very good condition for it's age.

This 1966 BSA Lightning is in great original condition. All of the paint is original, the chrome is very nice, and it has LOTS of brand new and new parts that include: speedometer and tachometer cables, battery, drive chain, rubber parts, fuel lines, and air filters. The brakes were cleaned, checked and adjusted, and the wheel bearings were cleaned and re-greased.

A beautifully restored, matching numbers, 1972 BSA Lightning. The list is long: .030 over size bore, new pistons, valves, guides, springs, cylinder painted, gasket surfaces cleaned, new gaskets, carbs, wiring harness, and turn signals, the pressure release valve, oil tank, oil filter and sump filter cleaned, changed all engine, primary and transmission oil, new coils, spark plugs and battery, replaced rear drive chain and sprocket, new tail light bulb and front fender, and replaced the reserve gas tap and all gas hoses. It drives better than it looks!!

      this is a nice bike.  Actual mileage not known. speedo. was broken and replaced with new speedometer.   estimated mileage to my best figure between both speedos.

Selling my 1969 BSA Lightning, #s matching, completely restored approx. 10 years ago at a cost of $9000 with 800 hours of labor, not including cost of bike. Fully documented restoration with full receipts and lots of manuals and brochures.

1968 BSA Lightning for sale. The frame VIN is A65LA6002. The VIN does indicate that it is actually a '67 model, as well as the single leading shoe brake, however, the bike was titled as a '68, most likely due to it being sold that year. Title is clear.  The bike is currently not setup as a matching numbers bike, however I do have the original cases in my possession.

1966 BSA Lightning 650 A65L Motorcycle for sale. RPM meter works, speedo does not work, so Miles on bike are unknown but motor starts within one or two kicks so the motor is still pretty strong. All the electrical works expect for the low beam on the main headlight blub.

1967 BSA A65 Lightning with original paint: I've owned this bike for two years and I have hardly ridden it.  It's been stored in my garage and living room and it seems a shame to hide it, so I'm passing it on. She shifts through the gears, starts on the first kick and brakes very well.This is a strong runner, and in very good condition for it's age. Here is another British Classic motorcycle from the owner's collection. The BSA Lightning was designed as the all-round sportbike of the 1960s, planned largely for export to the US market. Development of the engine aimed to make it more reliable, quieter and less prone to oil leaks & to improve mid-range and rideability.

Purchased as a "rat bike" in 2011 in Edgewater Florida. In process of converting to a '69 Lightning when connecting rod broke and trashed bottom end. Included incorrect side stand, points and coils and well as a Harley Sportster coil I ran on the bike.

This is a very nice running old Brit bike. It starts easy and idles great. Shifts real smooth.

Mostly original numbers matching BSA Lightning. It sat for a while so work to get it roadworthy includes complete valve job, new piston rings, new rod bearings, gaskets and seals. New tires, wheel bearings, rebuilt front end, and more.
