    A beautifully restored, matching numbers, 1972 BSA Lightning. The list is long: .030 over size bore, new pistons, valves, guides, springs, cylinder painted, gasket surfaces cleaned, new gaskets, carbs, wiring harness, and turn signals, the pressure release valve, oil tank, oil filter and sump filter cleaned, changed all engine, primary and transmission oil, new coils, spark plugs and battery, replaced rear drive chain and sprocket, new tail light bulb and front fender, and replaced the reserve gas tap and all gas hoses. It drives better than it looks!!

Motorcycle Retro is a pet project of former Motorcyclist editor Mitch Boehm, launching as Motorcyclist Retro in early 2008 under the Source Interlink media umbrella. It featured a contemporary look at motorcycles of the 1960s through the 1980s. However, the circulation numbers of MR didn’t meet the expectations of the media conglomerate, and they cancelled production of the magazine after just two issues.
