Harley-Davidson Museum’s Custom Bike Show Weekend on Labor Day

Labor Day weekend 2014, the place for Harley-Davidson fans to be is at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Starting Thursday, August 28 at 5:00 PM, the biggest bike night of the riding season kicks off the event-filled weekend. The holiday gathering will also include two custom bike shows, a women’s ride, displays of the 2015 Harley-Davidson Models, and the last chance to see the H-D Museum’s summer show entitled The American Road.

That’s right, you can win the Harley-Davidson Cross Bones motorcycle that the classic heavy metal band is currently using on stage in their 2009 U.S. Summer Tour.  To mark the 30th anniversary of British Steel , the band will play the entire album live for the first time ever.  The custom bike will have the Judas Priest logo, British Steel graphics and will be signed by the band at the end for the tour for the lucky person who can win it. Born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would have been 75 years ago today if he was still alive today.  As a tribute to “The King” of Rock and Roll, the Harley-Davidson Museum has created a special exhibit, expanding on the semi-permanent collection from Elvis that has been on display since the museum was opened in 2008. The bill of sale, insurance, and registration papers for the 1956 Harley-Davidson KH pictured above will be on display along with the motorcycle that was owned by Elvis and the Graceland Museum has loaned some rare photos for the occasion. Along with Cadillac’s, Elvis had a passion for motorcycles but especially loved his Hogs and rode Harley’s in many of his films, including Roustabout (1964), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Clambake (1967) and Stay Away Joe (1968).
