Harley-Davidson UL description

For Sale 1937 Harley Davidson  big twin flat head sport solo.  I have owned the bike for over 35 years.  It is an early 70's chopper.  Extensive motor work was done to it over the years.  Drives excellent! Has been sitting on display in our restaurant for the past 18 years. The motorcycle has no issues.  I am selling the bike because I have 2 other Harley's and had a serious injury to my left leg about a year ago and I will not be able to handle this bike anymore.  I also am getting older 66 years old time to find this rare bike a new home.  If you have any questions you can call or email thru ebay. Phone 618-893-4343

Additional information on this bike:  When it was listed earlier I had two brothers contact me and ask if it came from the Rock Island Il area.  I mentioned that I got it from a friend who used to live in Rock Island.  They had mentioned that they had old photos from their Godfather of this same bike and it's exact history.  The bike was built  by their late godfather Frank Marino in the 70's at Power House Cycles in Rock Island IL.  Frank bought out the HD dealer Johnny Powers and in that buy out their was several bikes and parts.  Their were a couple bikes that were built at the time of the buy out and this was one of them.  At the time he had a local artist commission a custom seat for this bike.  He scanned a bunch of old shop photos and recogonized this bike when they saw the seat on the listings.  Power House Cycle was shut down about 20 years ago and he moved to PA.  The bike was personally built by him including all engine work it is truly a stunning time capsule with some very unique history.  I thank the two brothers for passing this information on to me.  So this is a very rare hand built big twin flathead.  It is exactly like he had built it.  I uploaded some pictures that the brothers sent to me when the bike was in Power House Cycles in the 70's.

When in Rome for Harley’s 110th

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

In addition to all the other goings-on scheduled for Harley-Davidson’s 110th celebration in Rome, Italy, Pirelli and LowRide magazine are teaming up to bring Italian Motor Company enthusiasts even more. During the June 13-16 celebration Pirelli is setting up shop at Lido di Ostia, transforming the Rome Nautical Club in to the Pirelli Clubhouse for this occasion. Guests at the Pirelli Clubhouse can attend tattooing sessions, where images created by Fashion Tattoo Studio will be imprinted on a range of tires. For those who want to try the thrills of driving a racing car through iconic racetracks around the world, the Formula 1 simulator will be available throughout the four-day celebration. Also on show is the new summer collection of Pzero clothing.  Pirelli technicians will hold product workshops illustrating the importance of tires on custom motorcycles.

For 2014, James will be suiting up for his 20th consecutive season of road racing as he pilots his James Gang/Hoban Brothers Racing Harley-Davidson XR1200 for the AMA Pro Racing Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. And he brings with him a new sponsor and a continued relationship with the VETMotorsports program.

A Seattle Seahawks-Themed Motorcycle. Why? Because Football. And Charity.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

With the return of football season upon us (that’s American football for our international readers), we thought it best to feature, what else, but a motorcycle. In this particular case, it’s a Seattle Seahawks-themed custom based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King, the same year the Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. The man behind the custom, award-winning bike builder and Seattle resident, Keith Wong, was approached by Patrick ‘PT’ Town, the founder and executive director of Union Ride & Charity Rally - a charity event to raise money for several non-profits including Northwest Harvest, A.N.E.W., Helmets to Hardhats and the Awareness, Education and Prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Youth Football.
