Harley-Davidson Touring description

Solid running Road Glide with all the usual accessories; electronic cruise control, air adjustable rear shocks, AM-FM cassette stereo, quick release saddle bags, detachable passenger backrest, lowers, tall windshield, aux input for an i-Pod and an under seat bracket for a rider backrest but I don't have the rider back rest.  Everything works great, engine is strong, 45 to 50 MPG, handles two up riding with no problems.  The only reason I am selling is because my wife wants "a throne!"  There are a few chips and dings from rocks on the lowers and engine guards but otherwise the paint is in excellent condition.  The tires were installed by a prior owner so I don't know exactly how many miles are on them but they have plenty of tread left.  This bike is ready to ride anywhere, I'm confident you will not be disappointed.  The fuel gauge bounces somewhat but the low fuel light works fine.  I have a replacement gauge, it just needs to be installed.

If you are thinking about a Harley touring bike this is the one!  The Road Glide has a frame mounted faring as opposed to the Electra Glide which is mounted on the handle bars.  The difference is amazing.  You can ride the Road Glide for hours without being pushed around by the wind, semis, etc.  The stability and comfort of this bike is truly awesome.  Between the tall windshield, frame mounted faring and lowers the rider is very well protected and comfortable.

I welcome inspections and test rides as long as you have a motorcycle endorsement and experience riding a bike of this size.

I'm located in Broomfield, CO (between Denver and Boulder).  I'm willing to pick up buyers at DIA or will help arrange shipping if necessary.  Will consider riding it out to an airport near you for $1 per mile, as long as the weather is good.  I have a clear title in hand.

Dave Grohl Drums to the Sound of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle

Fri, 31 Jul 2009

I’ve got a lot of respect for Dave Grohl.  He’s amazingly talented and very driven.  Even after Nirvana, the guy is still kicking and in the spotlight with the Foo Fighters and the millions of other side projects he’s done (ie: Queens of the Stone Age). Apparently he’s also a big motorcycle guy. Harley-Davidson did a little video on Dave, featuring him drumming on a snare drum to the exhaust pipes of a Harley-Davidson.  The seven minute video goes on about how Mr Grohl bought his first motorcycle when the Nirvana album “Nevermind” started to become big.

Mon, 17 Oct 2011

In anticipation of Harley-Davidson announcing its third-quarter performance in 2011 Forbes.com expects Harley will reveal its third straight quarter of sales growth. The article says that financial analysts expect “earnings of $0.76 per share, up 47.4% from the same quarter of last year.” Additionally, an 18.8% gain in revenues is expected. Interestingly, the article refers to Harley’s motorcycles as “luxury items,” and as such sees Harley’s increased sales and profit as a possible harbinger of an improving U.S.
