Harley-Davidson Touring description

Haven't you always wanted the bike that when you stop everyone else comes to look? You should be on your own completely custom bike. You won't see this beauty anywhere else! I am selling my current bike that I fully customized. It is not a CVO but most people assume it is from the level of mods. This is your opportunity to get that CVO look without the CVO price. Note there are no mods to the stock 103 engine so there's no worries about mechanical mods. What I've done is purely aesthetic, I enjoy creating these types of bikes.

From front to back it has every conceivable add-on. Start with the unique custom tribal paint. The black isn't just black but a with a deep rich black cherry marbling underneath. The tribal print is shadowed not just a plain silver. The paint alone was $4000. I've won multiple bike shows with this bad boy.

There are simply too many add-ons to list but it is covered with Harley, Arlen Ness, Roland Sands and Performance Machine parts. It has LA Chopper 12" apes that help accentuate the cut aluminum and black theme. There are $7000 of add-ons parts if you really look at the pics you'll see them all. I am not trying to hide anything. I've added chrome around the engine, the floor boards, shifts, forks, front wheel so the 300 LEDs truly pop at night. It really gets people's attention at night.  Another added feature you don't see on these bikes is the painted to match tour-pak. It is quick attach, wired for power and many added lights as well.  The pictures in this ad truly don't do the bike justice!

Mechanically the bike is perfect, always used synthetic oil throughout, changed engine oil every 3000 miles, stored in basement over the winter.  The fairing comes equipped with a 330W, 2 channel J&M Rokker amp, Rokker speakers and BOOM audio tweeters.

This is as clean a bike as you'll find anywhere. The paint looks as wet as the day it was detailed. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've washed and waxed this near mint bike. I take alot of pride in my bikes you won't find a nicer used one. No scuffs, scrapes and only a couple hairline scratches that are difficult to see. Never any issues with the bike. You really can just get on and ride. The rubber is good. I am only selling because I'm ready to trick out another one! What else do you do during northern Illinois winters?

If you would like to talk about the bike or look at it send me a note and I will share my phone number. I have the title in hand for a nice easy sale. No reserve auction. I would consider reducing the price by $1500 if you want the stock wheel, tire and rotors. Miles will go up until it sells. Thanks for looking!

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

Harley-Davidson Ring Saved from a Filthy Fate

Wed, 07 Sep 2011

Here’s a story that might seem humorous at first but turns out to be a testament to a man’s love of motorcycling and the memories of a fallen friend. Ed Spalding of Terrace, British Columbia, Canada, and his close friend Roger Bourgoin bought Harley-Davidson motorcycles in 1991. To celebrate their purchases, the two also bought a pair of gold rings.

Harley-Davidson Confirms 500cc Model on the Way, Says Electric Harleys Not That Far-Fetched

Mon, 02 Sep 2013

It’s only been a couple of weeks since Harley-Davidson broke new ground by unveiling new “Twin-Cooled” liquid precision-cooling engine technology its new Project Rushmore suite of customer-driven refinements, but the Motor Company appears to have even more ambitious plans in the works. Speaking at Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary celebrations, Chief Operating Officer Matthew Levatich confirmed the company is producing a new 500cc model and opened the possibility of an electric Harley-Davidson somewhere down the line. We’ve previously written about Harley-Davidson’s plans to introduce a new 500cc V-Twin model for the Indian market.
