Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care

A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson  owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.

The former NHL Detroit Red Wing and Chicago Blackhawks tough guy, Bob Probert, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010 after suffering chest pains while boating with his family.  Probert was arguably the all time greatest NHL fighter but also had great skills, leadership qualities and a big heart. He was taken to his final destination on a Harley-Davidson sidecar before about 1,000 mourners.  Probert was 45 years old on his passing, he leaves behind his wife Dani, son Jack and two daughters, Brogan and Tierney. Mopar to Sponsor Canadian Superbike Championship

Chrysler’s parts and accessories brand Mopar has signed on to be the title sponsor for the 2012 Canadian Superbike Championship. Mopar replaces Parts Canada which recently ended a 22-year partnership with CSBK over controversial comments made by the series organizer on an Internet forum. The seven-round CSBK series includes separate pro and amateur Superbike and Sportbike classes, as well as a Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup and a new spec series for young riders featuring the Honda CBR250R.
