Harley-Davidson Touring description

Beautiful bike.  I bought this bike two years ago but never really had time to go out and get used to the Houston traffic.  I think the bike is better for someone with more experience and access to cruising out in the country.  The bike has a lot of power and has always been stored indoors.  The chrome on the wheels was a bit pitted when I bought it.  I would either leave it alone or have the wheels rechromed.  The leather and chrome are in great shape.  The bike has never been dropped.  I recently installed a new AGM battery.

The bike also comes with accessories that the prior owner gave me with the bike.  It comes with two HD jackets size XL, one is lightweight and the other is heavy with protective gear.  There is a skull helmet and a full cover SNELL certified helmet size M.  I'm also including a pair of size 11 HD boots that are also in great condition.

Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight and Roller Derby? [Video]

Thu, 10 Jun 2010

Canadian publication Cycle Canada had some fun on a photoshoot for its review of the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight for the July issue. As Pete wrote in our own review, the Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight has a rugged, bobber-inspired look with its chopped fender, chubby front tire and underslung mirrors. For the guys over at Cycle Canada, the Forty-Eight conjured up a rather odd image: roller derby.

Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India

Fri, 18 May 2012

India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.

Harley-Davidson Hires ex-GM Engineer Federico

Thu, 08 May 2014

Harley-Davidson has hired a former General Motors engineer and executive, most recently recognized for leading the automaker’s internal investigation of its ignition switch fiasco that resulted in a recall of 2.6 million vehicles. Jim Federico retired from GM on May 5 after working in various roles with the company over nearly four decades, most recently as executive director of global vehicle integration. Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.
