Harley-Davidson Touring description

Call Mike at 757-803-3441 with any questions

I am the 2nd owner of this bike. Upon purchasing the bike new, the original owner had many upgrades done by the dealer (I have receipts for all) including stage 2 kit (which converts the engine from 88 cu in to 95 cu in), custom handlebars and all kinds of chrome. Shortly after purchasing the bike new, the original owner went to bike week at Myrtle Beach. He told me everyone and their brother had the silver & black 100th anniversary paint set on their bike. Apparently he didn't like the idea of his bike looking like every other bike out there, so he had the dealer install the Demon Blue Ghost Flame paint set and put the original silver & black paint set in boxes where it is today (in my house). I am including the silver and black paint set with the bike.

After purchasing the bike in 2006, I had quite a bit of work done to it including installation of a high flow air cleaner, Kuryakyn TC-2G geared cams. I also bought 2 brand new stock Harley heads and had them ported and polished and installed with the geared cams. Along with the cams and heads, the dealer installed a Bassani true dual exhaust system. If you've ever done upgrades to a Harley, you know it is a bit of a crap shoot as to whether the upgrades result in the performance increase you were hoping for. Well, I got lucky. The performance increase was beyond my wildest dreams. I didn't know a street motorcycle could do what mine now could. When cracking open the throttle after shifting to 2nd gear, the acceleration is truly amazing. The same thing is true after shifting to 3rd. At one point I had considered upgrading this engine to a 103 cu in, but after experiencing the result of the cams, heads & exhaust, I no longer felt further upgrades were needed.

The bike has always been kept covered in the garage. It has been babied and never abused and it most definitely has never been in a collision or lain down. The paint and chrome are in beautiful shape. Whomever buys it will be a very happy camper indeed. Let me know if you have questions. Here are the highlights:

H-D Confirms Road Glide Dump

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

In a conference call with investors yesterday, Harley-Davidson Inc. admitted the rumors are true: the Motor Company is dropping the Road Glide. According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, during the investor call Thursday discussing second-quarter results Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HOG) Senior Vice President and CFO John Olin publicly confirmed the previously reported model dump to the Motor Company’s Touring lineup.

Most Obvious Press Release Of 2013: Biker Chicks Sexier Than Pedestrians

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

In a misallocation of funds Harley-Davidson recently spent an untold buttload of money proving something men have known for years: That women who ride motorcycles are sexier and better between the sheets than women who don’t ride. Common responses from male motorcyclists to the press release were: Duh; Tell me something I didn’t already know; Can I be a recruiter? Meant to entice non-riding females into the Harley-Davidson army by pimping the Bar & Shield’s website, www.h-d.com/women, the press release was peppered with effeminate catchphrases such as “physical intimacy, “communication,” and “improves relationships” but the basal message is one of female motorcyclists being sexier, happier and more confident than their non-riding counterparts.

Harley-Davidson has been building motorcycles for a long time. Over 105 years in fact, according to the summer celebration I attended in Milwaukee last summer. Who could have guessed over a century ago that the company would be alive and thriving today?
