First let me say this. This girl has gotten me across country twice, once from Boston to Anchorage. She has never let me down. She is made for the man who wants to get out on the road and just enjoy the present. I am actually quite sentimental about selling her but the temptation to ride is to strong.
Due to a non motorcycle accident I am not able to ride anymore. Any biker knows this is like having a limb removed. 1. The front tire needs a new tube 2. A battery is needed 3. A tune up is needed. Currently not turning over due to dead battery. But here is where this bike is not like any other bike you have ever ridden on. It has been driven, not trailered, in all 49 states, yes including Alaska. Up until this year it was meticulously taken care of. It had to be to make it through all those states. There are no major problems and the only problem it ever had was the cam tensioner chain broke. Other than that the belt driven beast made it through the gravel of the Yukon. So if you are looking at Harley with some history, I am talking real history this road king is for you. I do have some wiggle room on the price since it will need to be towed away. 2012 Harley-Davidson V-Rod 10th Anniversary Edition and Updated Night Rod Unveiled
Thu, 21 Jul 2011Harley-Davidson is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its V-Rod line with a few updates as well as a special edition model. First introduced in the 2002 model year, the V-Rod marked a new era for Harley-Davidson, with the V-Rod’s 1130cc 60-degree V-Twin Revolution engine, the Motor Company’s first production engine with liquid cooling and overhead camshafts. The 2012 Harley-Davidson V-Rod line is equipped with the latest generation 1250cc Revolution engine with dual overhead camshafts, four-valve cylinder heads and fuel injection.
Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley
Thu, 22 Mar 2012Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.
