2001 Harley Davidson Flhri Road King Touring Low Miles Super Clean on 2040-motos
Harley-Davidson Touring tech info
Harley-Davidson Touring description
The Road King (FLHRI) features a vibration-isolated black and chrome Twin Cam 88.42 cubic inch (1449cc), air-cooled, V-Twin engine; 5 speed transmission; and Harley-Davidson's top of the line fuel management system for that time, Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI). It has a 5 U.S. gallon fuel capacity and fuel economy of 46 highway and 39 city U.S. miles per gallon in a stock configuration as was reported by Harley-Davidson. I'm not sure what the economy is now but its not much less than that. According to Harley-Davidson, horsepower is 67 at 5200 (rpm) when stock. As you can see by the picture of the Dynojet sheet, this bike has 85 plus horsepower at that RPM with a max torque rating of 95.83. That's impressive. The engine had some low end modifications made to it and a power commander added to it in 2008 when it was Dyno'd. These subtle improvements give this bike the raucous, strong idle sound of the older carburetor style Harley's but with the dependability of fuel injection. In keeping with its traditional style, this Road King has Harley-Davidson Thunder Star wheels with Metzler ME880 tires; a large, head lamp and chrome nacelle, hard saddlebags with HD Toneau covers; a Corbin Faring with Klock Werks charcoal tinted windscreen; and tooled leather seat. Signature accents include 3-D chrome Road King Classic emblems on the fender tips, and seat valance and the classic painted tank lettering. The seat frame is set up to accept a detachable passenger back rest. The driver's seat is set-up with the driver's detachable back rest bracket also and I have these two back rest for sale separately. If you are the winning bidder we can discuss a discount. I also have a King Tour pack with backrest and luggage rack from an older bike that fits the detachable mounts that I can make available to the winning bidder at a very reasonable price. It is also Phantom Black but the pinstripe is a slightly different color. The instrument panel includes electronic speedometer with odometer and resettable trip meter, fuel gauge with low fuel light, oil pressure indicator lamp, and engine diagnostic light. The oil filler cap has been replaced with the HD accessory electronic oil level and oil temperature cap. The exhaust is a dual set-up with Vance and Hines tailpipes with removable baffle and packing. It has a really nice deep tone. Harley-Davidson list the dry weight for the 2001 Road King Classic is 760 pounds. It is 93.7 inches long with a 63.5 inch wheelbase. The seat height is about 26 inches thanks to the Harley-Davidson lowering springs. The low center of gravity makes it very stable and balanced. Even at low speeds. There is a Pro-Pad on the seat in the pictures but it is not included in the auction. SHIPPING: Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. The bike is in exceptional shape so I would recommend you ship it in an enclosed trailer or truck so that it looks this good when it gets to it's final destination. I can help load it but I have no ramps nor straps so have your shipper be professional and prepared please. Feel free to ride it home also. I have total confidence in the bike. NO WARRANTY: There is no warranty expressed nor implied and this motorcycle is being sold as-is, where-is. PAYMENT: Payment of the deposit/pre-payment must be received within 24 hours of the close of the auction by PayPal. The remainder of the selling price must be paid in full by PayPal, or cash prior to the motorcycle being allowed to leave or be picked up. I am not a dealer so any sales tax or registration fees will be the responsibility of the buyer so I will collect only the selling price. Please check with your local, and State licensing and registration authorities to see what type of paperwork you will need to take care of that when you get your new motorcycle home. I will provide the clear Sate of Louisiana, Motor Vehicle Title when the bike is picked up. I am willing to sign a Bill-of-Sale specific to your State as well but you will need to provide that. Important Reminder: I take my EBay status and feedback rating very seriously. As such I have described everything as best as I can but PLEASE ask questions before bidding. Once you bid, you have entered into an agreement to purchase. It's a legal and binding agreement and the only way to be fair to all the bidders( and keep the system as honest as possible ) is for me to legally enforce that agreement. So I will enforce the bid. I do have the bike for sale locally so I must reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell it locally. I will communicate with the bidders through messages if this should occur. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding This 2001 Road King is my personal bike. It has been treated like a member of the family. My reserve is way less than the value of the bike. The Corbin Fairing alone should prove that. The other accessories are too many to list so I'll have to let the pictures speak for themselves. Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have before you bid. Keep in mind that a bid constitutes a legal binding agreement to purchase. Thank you for your interest.

Harley Declares Women Riders Month
Tue, 10 Feb 2009Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.

Harley-Davidson Racers Visiting Troops In Middle East
Tue, 19 Nov 2013A large number of military personnel are also motorcyclists, with many dreaming of the day they can hop back on their steeds after deployment. Harley-Davidson understands this, and in cooperation with Army Special Forces Association Chapter 64, Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines riders Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines are joining Summit Racing Equipment and Armed Forces Entertainment November 18-22 for Operation Appreciation, an annual visit to American troops stationed overseas. After three years of visiting American military personnel based in Europe, Operation Appreciation will travel to the Middle East to visit troops in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
