Harley-Davidson Touring description
1971 Harley Davidson FLH, 1200cc, 74 cubic inch. Frame off restored motor in 2009. The second owner purchased this motorcycle in 1995 in an exclusive auction. He rode the motorcycle, stripped it, painted it, added chrome parts, and stored the motorcycle in his family room for over 15 years. He commented that he purchased the bike from the original owner. Apparently, the original owner fell off of the bike within the first few hundred miles and then stored the bike until 1995. I purchased the bike in August of 2010 from the second owner. The second owner believes the mileage to be original. I rode the bike about 1 year. The engine has good torque, sounds great, and runs smooth. As seen in the pictures, most of the parts are original. In the case that this is a true low mile bike, I do not want to tick the odometer past the 33.611 mile mark, and I do not have proper storage for such a nice motorcycle. As seen in the pictures, this is a super clean and extremely detailed motorcycle. This motorcycle is a perfect candidate to return to factory FLH form and specifications. Some of the original parts have been exchanged with chrome parts. Parts like the brake calipers and hoses, frame, Bendix carburetor, air filter housing, nose cone, gas tanks, handle bars, fenders, inner and outer primary, lights, nacelle, wheels, dashboard, wiring, rectifier, etc. are original. There aren't many Shovelheads on the road still being charged by the original rectifier. Although the solo seat is not original, the condition of it is excellent. Please use the zoom-in function on the engine pictures. In my experience, it looks like the engine and transmission have never been apart. Cases, cylinders, cylinder heads, rocker boxes, etc. look untouched. This motorcycle comes with a clear title. It is a used motorcycle. No test drives. Currently, I am in the Netherlands and can only be contacted by email. That's also the place where the motorcycle is stored.. If you would like to see the motorcycle in the meanwhile, this possibly could be arranged. Take a good look at the pictures and the report. An official Harley specialist made this report. Email questions or call (0031) 6 34608572 (Tom) About This Auction: Please note that all sales are binding and final. This motorcycle is sold “as-is” and “as-shown” with no warranty expressed, implied, or available. Winning this auction does not entitle you to come inspect the motorcycle and decide if you want it; but obligates you to fully complete the requirements of the purchase. You are encouraged to inspect the motorcycle before winning this auction. A $500 deposit via PayPal is due within 48 hours of the auction’s close. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance of the total amount due must be paid within 10 days of the close of the auction. The motorcycle must be picked-up within 7 days of the auction’s close. There are no exceptions. If you have zero (0) feedback on eBay, call or email me to request authority to bid on the motorcycle. Please request additional photos if you are unsure of something or require more detail. Please ask any questions before bidding on or purchasing the motorcycle. I am not an expert, others are. I highly recommend having a Harley expert to inspect/check the motorcycle prior to purchasing. This is to ensure that the motorcycle is what you need and what you want. There are no returns. As this 1979 Harley Davidson FLH is a used motorcycle, please expect the appropriate degree of wear and character that comes with age and use. Shipping is available, offered, or provided. Customer (bidder) shipped only. |
