VINTAGE 1936 HARLEY-DAVIDSON EL KNUCKLEHEAD

1936 marked the introduction of the new overhead valve EL 61 cubic inch knucklehead.

Serial Number 36EL2398

The bike on offer is one of the highly collectible first-year EL examples. Equipped with a 40 hp, 61 cu. in. V-Twin engine and four-speed transmission. Harley-Davidson introduced its new EL model in 1936, and it was nicknamed the “knucklehead” for the bumps on the cylinder heads. The OHV engine development had been delayed since 1934 by the Depression, but after a few initial teething troubles were resolved, it would remain a steadfast performer in the H-D lineup. It was later bumped up to 74 cubic inches in 1941 and production lasted until 1947. It was expertly refinished in handsome Sherwood Green with Silver contrasts. Restored with no-expenses-spared and using NOS parts, even the tires, it has been judged at 99 points by the AMCA. This beautiful early Knucklehead would be a welcome addition to any discerning collector’s lineup
Please note this motorcycle is being sold on a Bill of Sale Only.
International inquires invited. Shipping and crating quotes available on request
