Model: Triumph Scrambler Year: 2012 There's not a bike out there that has a better blend of vintage nostalgia and modern day competence.  I love to just look at it in the garage and chuckle every time someone pulls up next to me and asks if it's a '71 or '72.  But, when you start to feel bad that you aren't enjoying something enough, you need to set it free and let someone else enjoy it.  This bike has always been stored under cover and never laid down.  There is a small scrape on the Arrow 2 into 1 exhaust, but that's because the box that it was in broke open and slid between my leg and the garage wall.  Here's all you need to know: Price as new (MSRP): US $8,799 Displacement: 865.00 ccm (52.78 cubic inches) Engine type: Twin, four-stroke Engine details: 270 degree firing interval Power: 59.00 HP (43.1 kW)) @ 6800 RPM Torque: 68.00 Nm (6.9 kgf-m or 50.2 ft.lbs) @ 4750 RPM Compression: 9.2:1 Bore x stroke: 90.0 x 90.0 mm (3.5 x 3.5 inches) Fuel system: Injection. Multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with SAI Fuel control: Double Overhead Cams/Twin Cam (DOHC) Ignition: Digital-inductive type via engine management system Cooling system: Air Gearbox: 5-speed Fuel consumption: 5.11 litres/100 km (19.6 km/l or 46.03 mpg) Greenhouse gases: 118.6 CO2 g/km. (CO2 - Carbon dioxide emission) Exhaust system:  Arrow 2 into 1 exhaust (I still have the stock stainless steel exhaust)Iron Rider luggageLuggage rackLeather back pad

Tue, 03 Sep 2024

A double dose of nostalgia Photos by Edward Narraca; Harley-Davidson Museum Archives I love classic Americana. Hot rods, choppers, you name it. It’s one of the things that make me proud to be from the place that this aesthetic was born.

The Hydra-Glide name celebrates its 75th anniversary, dating back to the first hydraulic fork that was equipped to a Harley-Davidson, replacing the springer front end in 1949, while the “slash” fuel tank design, emblem, classic round air filter cover, two-toned windshield, seat, and cases, are all nods to the 1956 FLH.
