    1997 Harley Sportster 883 hugger,Clear title, runs rides great, recent service, fluids and adjustments, good tires, brakes, new intake seals, jetted carburetor, new sweeper exhaust pipes, bike sits nice and low has pull back bars for easy reach. polished engine was very dull and stained cleaned up but not perfect, many chrome accessories, chrome spoke wheels 16'' rear, 19'' frontall electronics work great, all gauges and lighting, battery charging system,  there are a few light scratches in the rear fender from the old saddle bags and the seat touring seat, also one chip in the front fender and tank, both are no touched up.lower fork legs have some pitting. last picture shows saddles bags, touring seat and back rest these items come with bike !

    This Harley Davidson Sportster is very fast and runs excellent.  It has a Barnett racing clutch, brand new primary chain, and a brand new shifting lever.  Transmission has been shimmed and gone through.  The motor itself has 24,139 actual miles.  Recently, I have been drag racing this bike in 300' dirt drags.  Consequently, I have a brand new Maxxis knobby dirt bike tire on the back and a brand new 19" knobby on the front.  I have the street tires and will include them with the bike.  Some of the features are: RAM air to a Bendix carb New front forks (extended 4" from stock forks) with chrome springs New chrome exhaust with megaphones 19 tooth front sprocket which gears it down from the original 23 tooth sprocket - I have both sprockets and will include the 23 tooth with the bike O ring roller chain Awesome paint job - House of Kolors cobalt blue candy over black with sea blue flake - turns chameleon colors in the sun Speedometer and Tachometer are original - Speedometer goes to 150 mph and the tach has no red line.  I have never seen this on a Harley before, and the motor will turn 8000 rpm Also not typical on a Harley, this bike has a power band - - when under full acceleration, the bike comes up to about 4000 rpm and snaps to 8000 rpm Currently, when raced in 300' dirt drags, first gear is about 150 ft, powershift second, and hang on for the other 150 ft because you're going 75 mph I purchased the bike from a friend, and I don't know the history prior to that.  But it is in excellent condition!!!!  I'm sure you will love it as much as I have. I will deliver the bike if you live within 100 miles of Grand Haven, MI.  Otherwise, shipping/transportation are the buyer's responsibility.  Payment - - I will accept official bank check or cash upon pick-up. Airhawk, Inc., has introduced the DS Comfort Seating System, a cushion designed specifically for motorcyclists who ride dual sport bikes or bikes with narrower seats. Features of the DS cushion include a narrow front to match the seat profile of most dual sport/adventure bikes and bikes with narrow seats.  A tapered-down front minimizes unwanted pressure on the scrotum, and a heavy-duty hold-down strap system ensures a secure fit to the bike.  The DS also works well with narrow customized or aftermarket seats that have been installed for the purpose of getting the rider lower to the ground.

Harley-Davidson Hires ex-GM Engineer Federico

Harley-Davidson has hired a former General Motors engineer and executive, most recently recognized for leading the automaker’s internal investigation of its ignition switch fiasco that resulted in a recall of 2.6 million vehicles. Jim Federico retired from GM on May 5 after working in various roles with the company over nearly four decades, most recently as executive director of global vehicle integration. Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.

Harley-Davidson Breakout Recall Caused by Fuel Tank Angle

An official recall announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sheds some light on the cause of a recall campaign on 2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout and CVO Breakout models. We wrote about the recall last week, after campaigns were initiated in Canada and Australia to address a problem with the fuel sensors not properly reading the correct volume of fuel. We now know the problem is caused by the angle of the fuel tank.
