Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Thank you for looking.

I have three bikes and and dont have much use for the Sporty anymore. The last two years have put less then 300 miles on it and its just taking room in the garage.

Originally a Hugger 883 but was punched out to 1200 at a Harley dealer with 13000 miles on the clock.
Within the last two years the apes, springer seat, speedo relocation and FL shocks were installed. Seat was $700, the apes were $500 speedo relocation bracket was $300, license plate bracket was $100. If you've been around sportys you know that the stock shocks on those suck! I used the shocks from my FL and it now rides like a dream. With the springer seat, apes and FL shocks you can ride for hours without any fatigue.
As you can see from the pictures there are some imperfections on the fenders from previous owner. Its a perfect candidate for a paint job to make it a perfect bar hopper. It could also use new tires, a turn signal light bulb and headlight bulb.

The bike has no problems and it is in great condition just needs a new home. It could make an awesome winter painting project

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

Church of MO: 2012 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide Custom Review

Sun, 30 Oct 2022

Someone’s not done bitchin’ in the kitchen ’bout Dyna; when H-D dropped the twin-shock classic after 2017, there was more than a little wailing and gnashing of gears. The first Dyna rolled out in 1991 in the form of the FXDB Sturgis, which I think is the one I rode to Sturgis. Ten years ago, Pete and Fonzie rode the FXDC Super Glide.

Harley Riders Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

The Harley-Davidson family of riders and fans has a promise for women affected by breast cancer: You’re not alone, because we ride with you. These riders and fans added extra horsepower to that promise by raising more than $1 million for organizations that support and empower women affected by breast cancer through the purchase of Harley-Davidson Genuine MotorClothes Pink Label Collection apparel and merchandise. “The brave and courageous women who have shared with us stories of battling breast cancer are the inspiration for the Pink Label Collection,” said Karen Davidson (right), Creative Director of General Merchandise and granddaughter of a Harley-Davidson Motor Company founder.
