Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Award winning Ironhead sportster.

Many people claim to be selling head turning unique Harleys, but this one truly is.  It got second place in the classic class in this years Old Snohomish ride in motorcycle show (amazingly beating out two panheads) and was chosen for an advertising photo shoot, when seen parked at the local marina.  Many times people have gone out of their way to check it out and compliment it.  In fact several people have felt slighted when their higher end custom Harleys have been passed by while this one is checked out.

It started life as a 1976 AMF sportster and was converted into what has been called by some a fatster, with a big twin gas tank.  It is painted a beautiful teal & Ivory color; and although there are a few chips here & there they don’t seem to detract from the bikes appearance. It has dual disc front brakes (it is one of the best stopping Harleys I’ve ridden), almost new (less than 1000 mile)Dunlop elite tires, a chrome oil cooler, dual oil filters, adjustable shocks, an S&S carburetor,  Highway pegs, a Chrome primary cover and quite a bit of tasteful chrome, a solo seat, and a fork bag with fringes & a choncho.

I bought this bike 9 years ago then sold it to an employee and got it back approximately 2 years ago. I’ve had it in my shop the whole time and he and I have played/worked on it continuosly. The generator, & regulator have been recently replaced as has the battery, starter drive, relay and switch.  Much work has been done on it over the years to make it somewhat reliable and I have receipts totaling $1321from other shops, unfortunately I haven’t kept track of what I’ve done in my shop, but it is enough that the wife is not a fan.  I have recently ridden it on rides of 60 and 96 miles; although it is more suitable for short bar hopper style rides.  I am amazed how well it handles in that I can take curves 5 miles an hour faster on it then I can on my touring Harley.  All In All it is a fun bike that starts instantly and runs well.

I’ll be 70 my next birthday and in looking at retirement need to down size a bit and also move on to some of my other projects. I'm also posting other auctions mainly harley parts, auto parts, collectible automobilia & toys (don't be surprised if i don't get any posted because I'm not as diligent at posting as I could be). Should you win Contact is required with in 48 hours and a 20% downpayment is due in 3 days with the balance due with in 10 days of the auction end. I am a bonded Washington dealer so the purchaser is gauranteed good tittle and Washington residents will have to pay the appropriate state taxes and fees. Out of state purchasers will have no taxes or fees to pay, however will have to sign the appropriate documents for sale. Transportation at purchasers expense can be arranged anywhere in the world.

Just look at this motorcycle for a moment. A creation of the German Motorcycle Authority, the TwinTrax is nearly 107 inches long, weighs 882 pounds, and took owner/builder Christoph Madaus 12 years to complete. Oh, and don’t forget the two Harley-Davidson V-Twins powering this thing.
