Harley-Davidson Softail description

This is a one of a kind Breakout that you will not see anywhere else!  I purchased this bike with the intention of creating a one of a kind beast that I could turn around and sell to someone looking for a bike of this caliber.  The bike is still very much brand new with only 65 miles on her.  The add-ons include a Vance and Hines short shot black exhaust system (sounds amazing), a screaming eagle speaker style air cleaner, and bullet style front and rear signal lights.  The paint scheme I did is a blue metallic marble finish with a trident style accent design extending from the tank to the fender.  The front fork clamps have been painted this same blue for added attraction.  There were a few other smaller pieces that I used the same blue on, such as the hand control levers, but in moderation.  The entire engine and transmission has been blacked out to energize the bikes overall look.  The front turn signals were relocated to under the foot controls as you can see in the pictures.  I like a bike with clean handle bars.  The largest modification that was done on this already sexy bike was the chopping of the stock rear fender.  The rear fender was cut down 4 inches, along with the factory struts, and fabricated back together in order to give it that factory appearance without the annoying fender gap.  All, or most, of the chrome on the bike has been sanded down, painted black and cleared to, again, keep the bike looking mean.  Well that just about covers it for now so if you have any questions please let me know.  Also, if you want to question my abilities go ahead and give Bayside Harley Davidson in Portsmouth, VA a call.  Ask to talk to "Pork Chop" or the general manager Shaun, they can vogue for my skills.  (Financing is available through Harley Davidson and the bike warranty is still good!!). THE BIKE WILL COME WITH ITS ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET!

US Highland Making a Comeback

Thu, 13 Oct 2011

US Highland appears to be making a comeback, announcing plans to begin processing new orders and having discussions with several OEMs for the use of the Oklahoma company’s powertrains. The Tulsa-based company did not mention which OEMs it is working with, though US Highland says the discussions could result in sales of over 20,000 units per year. The company is developing fuel injected V-Twin engines in 750cc, 950cc and 1050cc displacements and Singles in 350cc, 450cc and 507cc displacements.

Harley-Davidson's Production Stoppage Was Caused by Non-compliant Brake Lines

Fri, 29 Jul 2022

Production ramps up to meet year-end targets Back in May, Harley-Davidson announced it would temporarily halt motorcycle production due to a “regulatory compliance matter” regarding an unspecified part from a third-party supplier. Harley-Davidson initially estimated the stoppage would last two weeks but it eventually lasted 19 days before production resumed on June 6. The actual cause for the delay remained unclear some speculating the issue was related to the powertrains, as the stoppage only affected Harley-Davidson’s gas engine-powered motorcycles and not the electric LiveWires.

Harley-Davidson Christmas Commercial

Fri, 19 Dec 2008

Every year it seems that newspaper advertisements, radio and TV commercials for Christmas start earlier and earlier. As soon as the sun begins to set on Halloween, department stores begin packing shelves and websites start stocking inventory in preparation for the impending feeding frenzy that will occur for the most commercial of holidays next to valentine’s day. While spending the holiday with family normally keeps me blitzed off eggnog and most of these aforementioned advertisements are enough to make me want to book a cruise for an entire fortnight at the end of December, this one commercial for Harley-Davidson made me laugh.
