Harley-Davidson Softail description

For sale is one of the best looking motorcycles on the face of the planet. An absolute head-turner, this bike boasts several impressive upgrades.
 - Denim black. Hardest color there is to find.
 - Note that the front forks have been powder-coated black also to give the bike seamless color throughout. We haven't seen any others with this color symmetry to date (stock forks are metallic).
 - Brand new Bassani pipes. This bike sounds mean.
 - Bluetooth tuner. This bike can be adjusted without the need to disassemble.
 - ABS (anti-lock breaking).
 - Alarm system. Comes with keychain fob. There is actually little need to lock this bike since you aren't getting far without the key-fob.
 - Fuel-injection (this is actually pretty standard nowadays but we were told to mention it anyway).
 - Only 4K miles. You read that right.
 - 13.5 inch black ape-hangers. This enables the rider to keep his back straight when riding, rather than being hunched over as with the stock bars. Better center of gravity also makes the bike easier to handle.
 - Absolutely immaculate. Never been dropped. Not a scratch on it.
 - Note that in 2012, the Fat Boys were made with a size 103 engine. If you get an older (pre-2012)Fat Boy, you can expect a substantially smaller CC size.
 - On the left hand controls is a thermostat for the heated hand grips. You read that right :-)
 - Clean title in hand.
 - There is also a passenger seat (stock) that comes with purchase.

Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
