Tsunami-Tossed Harley-Davidson from Japan Washes Up in Canada
Mon, 30 Apr 2012A shipping container holding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Japanese plates was discovered on a beach in British Columbia, Canada. The container, which appears to be the cargo area of a box truck, is believed to be one of the first notable pieces of debris set adrift by the 2011 Japanese tsunami to land in North America. Beachcomber Peter Mark discovered the containerwhile riding his ATV along an isolated beach on Graham Island, an island south of the Alaskan Panhandle.

Tue, 24 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson reported a 10.9% growth in motorcycle sales in the fourth quarter and a total annual growth of 5.9% for 2011. The growth resulted in a net profit of $599.1 million for Harley-Davidson. The Motor Company sold 235,188 motorcycles in 2011, up from 222,110 units sold in 2010.

The first is the “Flying Eagle” Strato-Cycle, which is one of two used in the movie. The bike is complete with full documentation including original sales invoice from Harley-Davidson in 1977, whichcertified (with matching VIN numbers) and specifies that it was used in the Viva Knievel movie.
