Absolutely beautiful 2001 Harley softail with a springer front end and only 26,300 miles. The bike is in perfect condition with both tires new (less than 100 miles) and fully chromed. Harley-Davidson will introduce a new 1200cc Sportster model  released by the California Air Resources Board. The new 2012 Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two is expected to be announced at the company’s winter dealer meeting next month, and it may not be alone. Newly released documents from the CARB reveal the Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two among the company’s 1200cc Sportster offerings alongside the Forty-Eight, 1200 Custom and Nightster.

When Harley-Davidson first entered the Indian market, The Motor Company decided to import existing models as complete knockdown kits for final assembly in the burgeoning market. Considering the average motorcycle in India has a displacement smaller than 200cc, it was inevitable Harley-Davidson would eventually have to produce a small-displacement model rather than rely on its existing product line which currently lists the 883cc sportsters as its smallest bikes. Despite a denial last May by Harley-Davidson India’s Managing Director Anoop Prakash, it now appears Harley-Davidson is set to announce a new small-displacement model to be produced in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo next February.

H-D Confirms Road Glide Dump

In a conference call with investors yesterday, Harley-Davidson Inc. admitted the rumors are true: the Motor Company is dropping the Road Glide. According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, during the investor call Thursday discussing second-quarter results Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HOG) Senior Vice President and CFO John Olin publicly confirmed the previously reported model dump to the Motor Company’s Touring lineup.
