Harley-Davidson Softail description

Here's your chance to own one of the best looking bikes that Harley has ever made. The Heritage Springer was produced from 1997 until 2003. Designed by Willie G himself to pay homage to the 1940's Knuckleheads and Panheads, he hit the nail on the head. The most sought after color combo for this bike is the White/Red which was only offered in 1997. The low production numbers of the Heritage Springers, along with the nostalgia they offer have already caused these bikes to be a collectors item which I believe will only go up in value.

This particular bike has been enjoyed by two owners. As the pictures show, it has had nothing but great care both cosmetically and mechanically. There is zero corrosion anywhere on the bike. It runs and rides beautifully with no issues. The tires were replaced about 1500 miles ago and are Harley Davidson white walls. All of the fluids were changed at the beginning of this season. Also included the sale is the original passenger pad and windshield. Both are shown in the pictures.

In 2011 this bike had a new long block installed at the dealer. With the LongBlock Program from Harley you get a motor with all the important parts pre-assembled. That means the crankcase comes completely assembled with crank; flywheels; connecting rods; bearings; seals; cylinders; pistons; rings; heads; valves and springs; tappets and pushrod covers. It also received a cam support plate; cam plate bearings; cam and timing chain drive; hydraulic tensioners and all the gaskets and hardware needed. The LongBlock sub-assemblies are upgraded with late-model hydraulic cam tensioners, a high-volume oil pump and a billet cam plate. I have the documentation from Harley showing this work was completed in October 2011.

If you would like to see any additional pictures or have any questions please feel free to call me at (517)214-6688 or contact me through eBay.  Please keep in mind that this is a 19 year old motorcycle and it does have wear that is commiserate with a bike of this vintage but is definitely in above average condition.

A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the sale with the balance due within 7 days. The initial deposit can be paid though PayPal. The remaining balance is to be paid in cash upon pickup or a certified check through a reputable, well known bank. I have a free and clear title in my name.

New Harley-Davidson Sportster for India to Use 500cc V-Twin

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

When Harley-Davidson first entered the Indian market, The Motor Company decided to import existing models as complete knockdown kits for final assembly in the burgeoning market. Considering the average motorcycle in India has a displacement smaller than 200cc, it was inevitable Harley-Davidson would eventually have to produce a small-displacement model rather than rely on its existing product line which currently lists the 883cc sportsters as its smallest bikes. Despite a denial last May by Harley-Davidson India’s Managing Director Anoop Prakash, it now appears Harley-Davidson is set to announce a new small-displacement model to be produced in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo next February.
