Harley-Davidson Softail description

Up for auction is a really cool Harley Fatboy that has had a lot of money spent on it back in the day. I do not know a lot about motorcycles so I am sure that I will miss some things, so if there is something that you need to know, please feel free to ask and I'll get the info right back to you. This '96 Fatboy has the numbers matching 1340cc 80ci Evolution engine that runs great and has a 5 speed transmission that shifts as it should. The clutch pack feels good and the front and rear brakes are good also. The  Front tire is very good and the rear has some tread left but will probably need replacing soon. The Harley still retains it's factory purple paint and still shines up decent but its just rider quality. This bike is no trailer queen it has scratches, chips, dulling of the paint on the rear fender, broke right side turn signal light lens but still works and other little nick nacks{ please see the pictures }. Everything electrical works properly except the little neutral indicator light. There is a loud set of Vance and Hines pipes, chrome covers everywhere, a Hypercharger air cleaner, chrome tool box, Passing lights, nice set of leather throw over saddlebags, floor boards, and a brand new battery {over $100}. I am not a motorcycle rider but I have ridden it about 20 miles and it seems to ride straight, pull strong thru the gears { some vibration but I'm told that it's a solid mounted Harley engine } and stops good, other than that I have no idea. It is to me a great looking bike that has had a lot of money spent on it in the past. I have no need for the bike and somebody is going to buy a bargain. I have a clean clear title in hand for the new owner. Please look at all the pictures and ask all questions and I'll get back to you. All items are sold as is, where is. Cash Payment in hand, in person is expected within 7 days of auction close. Cash payment and pickup of bike is expected within 7 days of auction close. It is the buyer's responsibility to make all shipping arrangements although I'm flexible to meet with you shipper for pickup of the bike. Please look at my feedback and bid with confidence, good luck and happy bidding, God Bless.

Fri, 09 Mar 2012

The Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines racing team unveiled its restyled V-Rod drag motorcycles ahead of the first Pro Stock Motorcycle round of the 2012 NHRA Full Drag Racing series. This marks the first restyling of Harley-Davidson’s NHRA competition bikes since the V-Rod entered the competition in 2002, and comes as The Motor Company celebrates the V-Rod’s 10th anniversary.“The goal was to make the drag racing motorcycles look more like the current production Night Rod Special motorcycle,” says Kris Schoonover, Harley-Davidson racing manager.
